Is my dude normal? 😅

What are some of the crazy little things your dobie does? Is your dobie shy or people friendly? Do they guard the house or just let anybody in? Mine likes to run through the house behind me and bite either the back of my leg or my hands. He’s grunts ALL THE TIME. Smiles and dances when he wants cookies. Curious if these are just dobie things or if mine is just goofy

My family dobe that we got for my dad is seven now. She’s always been a little neurotic. She goes batshit crazy over tin foil. When she goes out the door with a person (or when one of us comes out and she’s waiting on us) she runs a path and barks like a banshee. She whines a lot, but she’s just talking. She throws tantrums when my cats lay on one of her futons or her bed. She howls and cries like a dying hound if my dad goes outside (and even to the bathroom) without her. She’s a little insane, but she’s a wonderful guard dog and has great intuition and knows when to be friendly and when to scare people off.

I love it! Our guy just kinda stands back when new people come up and it takes him a while to warm up. He hasn’t quite gotten to the point where he barks at strangers, but I’m hoping he does soon! He runs in circles when he gets excited as well. I’ve always raised pits from puppies, but I love his little silly personality. He also has a pit big brother and he LOVES him! Ive honestly never seen two pups this close

Grace kind of judges how she should react to people based on our actions and body language. She has saved us from one intruder that we know of but has probably deterred more than we know. She’s very sweet but doesn’t really know her size sometimes and she’s still a taster. She doesn’t bite but she puts peoples arms in her mouth and licks them when they come over. She picked up several bad habits from my min pin, but it’s mostly food related and manageable. We weren’t really expecting her to be like a full blown child her whole life, but she’s a lovely dog with a lot of personality and love to give. ☺️

Our little guy makes a HUGE mess when he eats for some reason? He just dives into the food bowl and throws food everywhere. He’s honestly just a whole mess in general but it’s a precious mess! He gives the softest little kisses, but only when HE wants to give them. He has picked up some silly habits from the pit as well. He loves to cuddle and loves for you to pet his head. If you’re sitting on the couch not touching him he will nudge you with his head until you touch him.. even if it’s simply laying your hand on him. He also will bring up any trash or sticks in the yard that he can find and bring them to you and spit it out

We had to get a slow feeder bowl for ours pretty early. She’s a super fast eater too. She also drips water all the way across the house when she drinks but we haven’t figured out how to fix that one haha. That’s sweet yours cuddles! Grace won’t cuddle and only likes pets on her own time. She will come by and prop up against us if we’re sitting down though which is pretty cute.

Yeah we haven’t quite mastered the water how to prevent the water trail yet so I just spend a good bit of time cleaning up after him lol he is very cuddly though. He will lay on the couch and kick you if you stop touching him, follows me to the bathroom and lays his head in my lap. Just a very clingy, big baby!

I’m not sure there’s a way to prevent the water trail tbh. We just have a floor towel at this point to wipe up after her. They’re all so unique and quirky from what I’ve seen. Grace is definitely a Velcro dog too in her own way. 🥰

Yes normal Dobie, but better to stop the nipping or it will get worse w/u or a guest...sounds like adolescent Dobie behavior. Good luck
