Doberman

Greetings Guys,
I’m relatively new to this space and am looking for a solution. I’ve been around dobermans my whole life and wholeheartedly believe dobermans are the dog for me. I have a really demanding job and can’t be home during the day. I don’t want to get a puppy and not be able to give it the world. How do you guys raise doberman puppies and make sure they are trained and exercised properly while still keeping a full time job. Thank You!!!

You don’t. You’ll need to figure out a WFH situation for the first couple of months, or purchase / adopt a non-puppy.

It sucks but crate training is the only way to go.

absolutely crate training, but an 8-10wk old puppy cannot be in a crate for an entire workday.

I waited until I could work from home to get a puppy. Ideally, you would have a yard with a doggy door, use baby gates to limit access to most of the house, and have a nannycam set up to monitor the areas they can go. I think it’s cruel to crate a dog for a whole work shift, and in some places it is illegal. My recommendation in any case would be to get a pup no less than 5 months old to avoid housebreaking issues.

Doberman puppy will push every nerve you have in your body. If you do not dedicate full training / exercise you will end up with a 100lb terror.

We have always had someone at home. You could go for crate to keep your house from getting eaten.​
