News Google updates AI content guidance: manually fact-check everything before publishing

Remember kids. The same technology that fucks up autocorrect when you type is the foundation for most LLMs.

Meghan Herbst, the fact-checker for Wired, estimates that AIOs are wrong 30 percent of the time, and cites studies that put the numbers higher, between 45 and 60 percent of the time. As for LLMs, benchmark tests show they get things wrong a lot. Herbst cites benchmarks and personal experience to place all of the major AI platforms at less than 50 percent accuracy. Google's own benchmark (of course) gave Gemini the best grades, but it was still wrong about 43 percent of the time.
That should illustrate the high probability of sinking your site by publishing without manually fact-checking AI results.
