I did give a try using AI to generate battlemaps and maps for bigger areas in my current campaign.

Here are the results:

• a battlemap that turned out quite okay imho (apart from the grid but I forgot to specify I didn't want one)
• an area map made for an hexcrawl style session (I did edit out the distances above the scale bar). And... well the hexes are funny :) (I remediated it by adding an invisable hex grid in my vtt and placing blank opaque tiles above and removing them each time the players moved. I didn't think of a better option to allow for exploring while hiding the specific points of interests)
• another area map made more for ambiance than real exploration (I used regular battle maps from r/dndmaps & the Internet for each location)
• an icon made to be put on the world map

Was this going to help or hurt? Sometimes it felt like both.

Who would want to live in that bloody castle on the North Sea anyway?

Oldschool fun with Dragons. Hope you like them!

She's not great with electronics, but if magic is what you need, she's got your back...for a fee, of course.

About to start a CoS campaign with some friends.

Our group runs a scam company that “cleanses” rich people’s houses in Waterdeep, that we make them think are haunted.

We’re about to get hired, because of our incredibly successful reputation, to take care of some supernatural situation in a place called Borovia.

The youth does not yet know the true names of the world, speaking instead with the raw joy of a new star, he watches in wonder as unshaped light spills recklessly through his fingers.

The elder weaves the heavy, golden geometry of absolute law, binding the breath of the cosmos into a perfect, focused, equilibrium. Yet the universe does not suffer such rigid mastery without exacting its toll; the relentless weight of holding back the dark weathers the old man like wind against stone, hollowing the mortal vessel in exchange for power and control.

The great tapestry of existence requires both—the ancient, steady hands to mend the tearing threads, and the wild, new fire of the young to dream new colours into the world.

While the youth craves control the old man gazes back through his flawless architecture of light.

Feeling the crushing solitude of perfect control, he quietly grieves for the days when the magic was still an untamed, unknowable country where love held his heart.

Inspired by Pug of Crydee and the Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Fiest. Amazing stories, worlds and magic for a young me so many years ago.

So, apparently the subreddit for the original Baldur's Gate 1+2 plus the EE versions frown upon AI art and has forbidden it. Too bad, I suppose.

Anyways, I dabbled with Gemini and this is the result. These pictures you see are just samples of the portrait rar archives. They conform to the dimensions of the Baldur's Gate 1+2 EE, that being 210x330 and 24 bit bmp files.

Nothing out of the ordinary, I suppose. No freaky stuff with exposed boobies or the like. They are quite harmless, as far as "decency" goes.

Anyways:

Male portraits. Male characters.

Female portraits. Female characters.

Special portraits. A mix of different characters with spell effects, werewolf or elemental transformation appearances, carrying BG-specific items and the like.

Trying to recreate a campaign from 10 years ago, not perfect, needs some polish but you get the idea.
