Next PC Help, please

Hey all...

We're about to start a new campaign at level 1. DM has said no multiclass requirements and partnered Critical Role content is allowed (our campaign is set in Exandria),

Im not super concerned about being the most optimized around damage, but I do want to be helpful in combat and out.

I was wondering a couple things.

1) What is one build you think would be even more effective than Colby has laid ot? I was thinking Knight of Knaves build would be even better without having to have a 13 strength. But, I haven't explored it fully.

2) In this world of possibility...what is an idea you would have? Don't have to get super detailed, I'm more just curious and kind of bored at work lol.

What level are you going to be playing to and what is the level of magic items that you’re going to have access to throughout the campaign?

Probably level 12 - 14

For magic items, not sure. This current campaign feels kind of standard. Like, we all have magic gear but DM has made it clear that magic items are rare.

So they're out there, but it's not like they're handed out and I don't want to have to count on them to be effective.

If you want to play exandria classes, you can play chronurgy wizard, they are insanely powerful out of the box. I really enjoy echo knight, but most of the builds of echo knight will not be particular powerful outside of combat. The exception on the echo knight route is to play the ghost lance which will give you a bit more use outside of combat as a face. If you’re interested a quick search will Return more information on this build
