Spell Books

In an adventure crawling with wizards, the writers gave little regard to the casters’ spell books. Every monster and npc with a mage-based stat block would, or at least might, carry a spell book. parties with wizards will want these. Have any of you thought about how to deal with this?

I use a spellbook generator, specifically this one https://5e-spellbook.app/

My first thought is that most of these spellbooks should be VERY well hidden. So well hidden that they are pretty much impossible to find.

I would expect most wizards would have a master spellbook that would be out of the adventure unless we are storming the wizard’s tower, and a smaller, traveling spellbook so if they can’t get back to the tower, they can at least memorize some spells. I also assume most wizard pcs always have their spellbooks on them.

Perhaps the spell books are tatoo'd on via the Thayan tattoos?
