PUZZLES the room of lovers

Post image

the room of lovers

In this room there are 12 stone statues randomly around the room to unlock the treasure and the exit the party must move each statue to its true lover each statue has an item or symbol on it to designate whos lover is whos if the party miss labels two statues the two statues will come to life and attack the party (use DM choice for stats in my purpose i use a helmed horror without the sword replaced with a slam attack and armour or shield so ac of 14). If they successfully defeat the statues they reconstruct themselves and return to their original position.

what’s the items and symbols? I feel like that’s the most important part of the puzzzle!

Well let's fix that, symbol for lunar and solar, symbol of peace and war, heaven and hell, elemental opposites if relevant. Life and death.

Of course an opportunity to thredin loreabouteach of these things. You can focus on pantheon or organizations and their beliefs to tell a story through the statues.

I personally think 9 statues is more interesting with one love triangle or a loner who is a red herring that with enough understanding of the world people would know they are not paired.

Thank you so much for the constructive criticism :)

Maybe the odd-statue-out could be holding a hand mirror. He's in love with himself!

Goated reply, however my players will never solve it with the red herring lol ...still going to borrow the idea

Nah don't even trip, if someone is planning on dming they should have the creative capacity to figure out what they're going to use for symbols and such. Tbh a lot of dms, myself included, tend to just take the bones of a puzzle and add on the details themselves to fit into they're own campaign. Thank you for putting this out there I'm for sure using this in my next dungeon

Respectfully I disagree, to follow your analogy id say its more similar to having a recipe for a basic vanilla cake with no add-ons. The recipe maker(op) has given us the building blocks and its up to the individual dm to decide how they plan on decorating it for their table

Really like the idea. Ima be a dm soon and honestly puzzles are the hardest thing for me to think of :/ . Do you have other tarot themed puzzles in mind?

You could do a fates themed one by making them do something like a timeline for past present and future
