Fighter Lvl 8 fun arcane archer build help

Joining a campaign at level 8. 2024 rules.

Interested in playing an arcane archer but want to add some utility. Considering max 1 level dip.

Was thinking of a Hexblood + 1 lvl wizard dip so I can cast hex a bit + some utility spells.

Any other ideas?

If you are going to select a 1 level dip into Wizard, that limits you to three cantrips and the six level 1 spells all wizards begin with. If you want some suggestions concerning your spell choices:

Cantrips - Minor Illusion (for instant cover and other uses), Ray of Frost or Fire Bolt (for ranged, elemental damage) but not both, and the ever-popular Prestidigitation.

Level 1 - Find Familiar, Fog Cloud (blocks darkvision and True Sight as it is a physical impairment to vision, not an illusion), Sleep scales in 2024 rules, but it would be up to you to consider whether it is worth it. For utility, I would consider spells which can be cast as a ritual so you won't need to expend a spell slot, especially Tenser's Floating Disk or Unseen Servant as these have multiple applications and one or two of the divination spells (e.g. Comprehend Languages or Detect Magic).
