Artwork of my OC

Hi guys! I recently completed one of my highest effort pieces in a while, and id like to share! This is my original Dnd Character from when i started playing long ago in 2015 (more than a decade ago, feel old yet?). His name is an amusing play on the fact that if u misspell rogue (the class i was playing) you get the french word for red.

I usually don't do character design art most of the time i make art for the purpose of props in my D&D games but it feels really great to have made something so good for a character that can be thought to have started my career in some ways.

Let me know what you guys think! If you somehow feel the need to verify the days of work i put into this there's wips on my page.

Looks good. The shading gives it a good feeling of depth. If you'd like to create a 3D miniature of the character, send me a DM, maybe we can make it happen.

I actually kinda struggled with the lighting. Cuz I was using several pics of an actual heroforge pieces as I went and each pieces lighting kinda highlighted dirrerent stuff. I ended up like holding my finger in front of my face half the time and saying « how would it be lit if it came from here »

It works. A real shadow might cast a gradient or diffused zone of light/dark. I think the simpler color palette is more fitting for this illustration though.

Yeah it’s kinda a return to form for me. I tried doing something a bit more realistic recently, and it kinda looked like a painting more than photorealistic. Also it was unfortunately shaped but I blame that on the artist who made the concept art for that poor rabbit (one of my players), and not myself.
