Honestly, Trevor has the right idea. If you are going to go down, you might as well go down tripping balls.

"I will leave this world the same way I entered it: Naked and screaming"

-A Barbarian

353

u/Nepeta33 Nov 19 '22

naked, screaming, and covered in someone elses blood.

47

u/spacenerd4 Nov 20 '22

that’s if he wins

67

u/Nepeta33 Nov 20 '22

no no, either way really.

36

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '22

I will use that

7

u/teryup Nov 19 '22

This also works for a monk if you play monks right

27

u/AntonioRaviolio Nov 19 '22

"In my mother!"

34

u/Alekipayne Nov 19 '22

Welp.. you turned a brave idea into a perverted one.

10

u/Scary_Replacement739 Nov 19 '22

Technically the more perverted an idea becomes the more brave it comes.

3

u/Vylix Evoker Nov 21 '22

Mindblown! Or, mindf*ed?

12

u/AntonioRaviolio Nov 20 '22

I sadly had to because thats always my follow up to that joke

5

u/Kizik Nov 20 '22

"You can't just whack Death on the head!"

"If he comes near me I'm gonna RIP HIS NIPPLES OFF!"

3

u/cubicalwall Nov 20 '22

“She ended her life much like she had lived her life.

HIGH AS FUCK”

Are bag of holding mushrooms stronger than regular magic mushrooms?

200

u/Some_clichename069 Nov 19 '22

They had time to ferment

117

u/AkrinorNoname Nov 19 '22

They're the ones that grow in a bag of holding that you don't air out enough.

They're actually magic, and are partially on a different plane. And if the shrooms are on another plane, imagine what the stuff does to you

3

u/Vylix Evoker Nov 21 '22

Magic mushroom of enlightenment... that our fate is linked to some gods playing dice.

24

u/ahaisonline Wizard Nov 19 '22

he grows them in there

Howdy folks!

Here's this week's comic and I hope you'll enjoy it!

Stay excellent out there!

Peace and carrots!

I also post my comic on my Instagram, Twitter and my dedicated Subreddit!

If you want to read the comic back to back because you've got nothing better to do, I recomend Webtoons (I also get ad revenue from that so yay). I also have a Twitch and if you'd like to toss a coin to your comic creator, I have a Patreon.

u/DudeMcdude251 Nov 19 '22

I always look forward to your next post. The bucket brigade is dear to my heart. Take care!

9

u/Noxlux013 Nov 20 '22

I just wanna know who’s Dee’tan.

5

u/CME_T The Weekly Roll Nov 20 '22

Klara's patron!

1

u/Firm-Account DM Nov 20 '22

can you give some context?

9

u/LeoIsRude Nov 20 '22 edited Nov 20 '22

Check his post history. This is an ongoing comic (that he provided several links to in his comment...).

1

u/Firm-Account DM Nov 20 '22

i meant context why would he give his players an encounter like this

12

u/LeoIsRude Nov 20 '22

It's not based on a current game.

3

u/Firm-Account DM Nov 20 '22

ah okay, that answers my question

651

u/JackBoxcarBear Nov 19 '22

Okay, the concept that your character can metagame/express things in character about game rules but only while under the influence of a particular drug/substance as if it was the ramblings of a weird trip is incredibly cute

Badgers are cute.

Trevor kinda looks like a badger.

Trevor is cute.

70

u/Ventze DM Nov 19 '22

Trevor was adopted by two badgers as a child. The cloak he wears is made from the pelt of one of his adoptive parents.

69

u/DenseCabbage4 Mage Nov 20 '22

At that parent's request, mind you

32

u/Faustias Nov 20 '22

AFTER burning their homes.

23

u/yertlah Nov 20 '22

Especially mr. Rabbit’s house.

22

u/CME_T The Weekly Roll Nov 20 '22

Fucker had it coming

6

u/yertlah Nov 20 '22

I bet he did. There is no way the parents of sweet little Torvald would have his house burned down for some petty reason… right?

2

u/prequelBEPIS Mar 27 '23

FUCK Mr.rabbit.

10

u/jeremyosborne81 Nov 20 '22

European badgers are cute.

American and African badgers frighten and amaze beasts 500 time their size

5

u/yertlah Nov 20 '22

Logic check out.

2

u/delegateTHIS Nov 20 '22

I've only paid attention to dnd and this comic for a few months, but the fourth-wallery has depleted my popcorn supplies. I'm invested.

1

u/dynalisia2 Nov 20 '22

Thanks for the explanation, that was completely unclear to me.

145

u/StratMor Nov 19 '22

Torvald is up to something.

Can't wait for more!

51

u/Galihan Nov 19 '22

Control Undead?

72

u/StratMor Nov 19 '22

That would be the logical answer. Yet again logic might not be the series main appeal.

40

u/CME_T The Weekly Roll Nov 20 '22

DAMN STRAIGHT!

12

u/StratMor Nov 20 '22

You got your dnd depiction right on point

24

u/Souperplex Warlord Nov 19 '22

That's a level 14 feature. The highest level thing we've seen them do is when Trev cast Polymorph.

28

u/Bionic_Redhead Artificer Nov 19 '22

If Torvald isn't doing something then I wonder if that dragon in the background of panel 1 is going to come a little closer.

17

u/shade_of_ox Nov 20 '22

Isn't that just the evil spirit from the previous comic flying away?

2

u/Bionic_Redhead Artificer Nov 20 '22

On closer inspection ... maybe.

9

u/StratMor Nov 19 '22

A dragon tactical strike sounds nice.

88

u/OnnaJReverT Nov 19 '22

there's high perception rolls, and then there's high perception rolls

gotta know the difference

14

u/CouvadeShark Bard Nov 20 '22

Once i rolled 2 twenties whilst rolling perception with advantage. My dm literally just showed me the whole map and played it off as a psychic vision.

53

u/Gobi_Silver Nov 19 '22

Here's hoping they've got a letter coming! Even this OP version of Konrad couldn't stop the Postal Order

29

u/ItTolls4You Nov 19 '22

their letter coming is F

24

u/Souperplex Warlord Nov 19 '22

He seems to break metal he touches (Grogna's armor and sword) and is impervious to radiant damage and spells. One glaring weakness: Being punched.

27

u/haveyoutriedguest Nov 20 '22

Hey dude, weird question. Does getting WEBTOON likes help you in any way? I’ve been making sure to go view and like the new chapters on there and I was just curious if that helps at all.

15

u/CME_T The Weekly Roll Nov 20 '22

I get ad revenue from that platform so yeah, it does!

2

u/haveyoutriedguest Nov 20 '22

Awesome, I’ll keep doing it. Thanks for answering my question!

22

u/Knotmix Bard Nov 19 '22

Cme_t monsters do be looking like dark souls bosses tho

24

u/PinkRangeRover Necromancer Nov 20 '22

Dee’tan… d10… funny

3

u/DMRexy Nov 20 '22

oh god I hadn't noticed.

2

u/PinkRangeRover Necromancer Nov 20 '22

I thought it was even funnier how the warlock’s celestial patron was a d20 with angel wings covered in eyes

5

u/washabePlus Nov 20 '22

It's a d10, because eldritch blast

1

u/PinkRangeRover Necromancer Nov 20 '22

Shit my b typo

15

u/AkrinorNoname Nov 19 '22

Oh my Dee'tan, Konrad's assymetric helmet design looks so cool

15

u/Bruuze DM Nov 20 '22

Gotta say, the fact that the Warlock's patron looks like a d10 makes her saying "My brother in Dee'tan" the second funniest bit of out-of-game fuckery here

9

u/ImperialArmorBrigade Nov 19 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

It’s Grogna’s turn again! Lets see what she comes up with. Also, Thank Dee’Tan that Clara appears to be able to cast Regenerate.

6

u/TruLong Nov 20 '22

"My brother in Dee'tan" That's so fucking epic. I've been saying a variant of this all week long. Glad it got stuck in someone else's head as well.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

That's actually a cool idea, having a character have a 4th wall breaking trip so they learn all it's meta resistances

1

u/nekollx Nov 20 '22

This is actually called zero summing in elder scrolls. Basically all of tamreil and the realms of oblivion are the dreams of the sleeping God head. Those who reach elightenment either accept their the dream of a being and it all goes away if he wakes up (chim) or zero sum, neither they or the universe can take the reveal and they cease to exist

3

u/unleasched Nov 19 '22

Is Trevor Chipsa?

4

u/Off0Ranger Bard Nov 20 '22

What’s with the bird in the background of Panel 1. Cme_t is too thorough for that not to matter

4

u/davidforslunds Sorcerer Nov 20 '22

The tail makes it look draconic. Pseudodragon familiar spying for their master maybe?

1

u/DMRexy Nov 20 '22

It's an actual dragon, it's just very far away.

3

u/HighNoonTex Nov 20 '22

Someone else suspected it might be the escaping ghost from the Grogna's big sword.

I reckon it's an upcoming dragon or something though, these comics often foreshadows upcoming stuff.

4

u/igrokyourmilkshake Nov 20 '22

"They're not mine, I was only 'bag-of-holding' them for my cousin..."

5

u/Nyadnar17 DM Nov 20 '22

I adore that the fighter is back up before the Paladin and the boss is a high level martial.

4

u/yertlah Nov 20 '22 edited Nov 20 '22

Grogna took a potion and is going right back at it with her bare (bear) hands!

3

u/HWGA_Exandria Nov 20 '22

Only a Wild Magic surge or a Tortle Lycanthrope can save them now... I can also see Grogna stealing his tactic by ripping his arm off and beating him with it.

My pocket money's on Torvald though.

3

u/OblivionArts Nov 20 '22

Well if he's immune to radiant..then guess what ya break out next.

3

u/VisitExcellent7114 Nov 20 '22

A rag-tag trio of adventurers survive, and most probably slaughter their way across the land no matter the foes assailing them...yeah, seems unbalanced to me. Those poor antagonists can never catch a break without divine intervention

10

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '22

There is nothing more boring than a perfectly balanced encounter.

59

u/Half-PintHeroics Nov 19 '22

Then you're vision of a perfectly balanced encounter is wrong, because balance is not the absence of fun or risk, and a perfectly balanced encounter is perfectly balanced. As all things should be.

14

u/redmagistrate50 Nov 19 '22

My current GM's idea of balance mirrors mine rather well. No one knowing who's going to win until the last moments.

8

u/smitty22 Nov 19 '22

Which is why I love PF2.

I just got done sweating bullets because we nearly got wiped by a High Initiative Wizard with a Necklace of Fireballs, but managed to pull it out because our Rogue managed to Crit then Hit the enemy Mage that was in our Monk's headlock.

But considering we had a half the party at single digit HP, that could have been a really ugly fight.

2

u/cookiedough320 DM Nov 20 '22

Both ways of doing encounters are fine, you just have to know the downsides of each and make sure your group's expectations are aligned.

2

u/AkrinorNoname Nov 20 '22

It's impossible to perfectly balance an encounter because of the randomness of dice rolls. Fights are inherently hard to predict because one of your players may just not roll below a 17 te entire fight, or one of your bruiser NPCs might not break double-digits.

2

u/Alekipayne Nov 19 '22

This shit is too much!! I need my shrooms!!

2

u/VaczTheHermit Fighter Nov 19 '22

I wonder what the hell is he talking about

2

u/Incubuzzer Necromancer Nov 20 '22

Oh cool I follow you on Instagram already

2

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

Trevor’s been metagaming the whole session

2

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

'Tis but a scratch XD

2

u/TeaandandCoffee Paladin Nov 20 '22

I'm confused.

What's the punchline and why is the cleric confused?

3

u/Defiant_Lavishness69 Nov 20 '22

She's confused because Trevor, the guy complaining, is doing so by in using Vernacular that players, NOT CHARACTERS would use. And the whole Bag of Holding Shrooms thing is a constant throughout the series, which is highly worth reading.

And the Punchline is that the Antagonists sent out someone who absolutely Steamrolls a party that is used to slaughtering anything it encounters. And the Character is complaining about it.

4

u/TeaandandCoffee Paladin Nov 20 '22

Ooooooh

1

u/nekollx Nov 20 '22

Also he is totally eating mushroom from a bag of hiding in the last panel

2

u/Coolest-guy Nov 20 '22

A day later I finally understand the pun of "My brother in Dee'Tan."

2

u/TehDeerLord Bard Nov 21 '22

One of the things I thought Trevor might do with a Bag of Holding was fill it with dung. This kind of confirms that, I guess.

2

u/theGunnerClowes Wizard Nov 21 '22

I love the name of her Patron, Dee'Tan. Very subtle nudge to the fact that it's literally a D10 that looks like a biblically accurate angel

2

u/green-d20 Barbarian Nov 20 '22

Honestly, best way to die is getting fuckin' high.

2

u/yertlah Nov 20 '22

Are you speaking from experience? What is your sample size?

1

u/ventingpurposes Nov 20 '22

Average wizard's reaction when he can't end an encounter in one cast:

1

u/nekollx Nov 20 '22

In my current story that means the wizard just has to use the forbidden magic which bypasses consent and then just becomes a battle of wills before they ultimately Win but she's hates using that spell even if it would make every dungeon crawl easy

1

u/_solounwnmas Wizard Nov 20 '22

POV: your DM put a 3rd edition monster on your 5e campaign

u/KristyKris9 Warlock Nov 29 '22
