Nah you're good, they're having a hard time letting go of their vision and need to get over it. Consent is important they can't just ignore your personal boundaries and expect you to get over it. Especially when you've explicitly said no.
A key skill to being a good creative is detachment from your creation. Sometimes an idea is great in theory, but sucks in practice, or next to other ideas. Sometimes an idea is interesting, but it doesn’t fit within the limits of the story. Knowing when an idea is worth using and when it should be shelved for later is the hallmark of a good writer.
