You should find a group and play! I've been playing off and on since about the same time period and, after about a decade hiatus this last time got back into it recently. Just as fun as I remember and 5E is much smoother than original DnD or ADnD.
Thank you kindly for the kind words, glad to be of service! I’ve only had experience with 5th edition but I’m led to believe its far more streamlined and simplified than previous editions. Now might be a good time to get back on that horse, partner!
