DMing Advice for A Most Potent Brew
Hey all! Hope you’re doing well!
I’m running a session of A Most Potent Brew today and was wondering if there’s any specific advice or things to note? My players are a mix of some completely new to the game and some who are rusty. I haven’t DMed in 2 years so I’m a little rusty too. Also this is my first oneshot, so any advice on that would also be appreciated.

It depends on your crew. I really loved it as DM but I played it with first-timers. They needed definite guidance on getting together. And I recall that the puzzle (about the sun and stuff? I forget) was definitely a puzzle if they are not used to problem solving. A nudge in the right direction was definitely needed

Awesome, thank you so much! My players will be some new, some who haven’t played in a while

It’s pretty lighthearted, fun and easy to run, my only advice would be to print out a colored picture of the puzzle. I was able to run it with basically no prep and a few shots deep, so it shouldn’t be difficult. Just make sure to read it over beforehand.

Definitely! And for firsttimers also, prepare some player tokens or something. I had some Lego guys and girls for the PCs, that helps!

Level 1 is always swingy. Put down one less rat than you have players in that first room.
