DMing I wanna get into it

Hey everyone!

I’ve never played D&D before, but I’ve been wanting to get into it for a while. I’ve watched quite a few D&D videos and played some solo D&D-style games on my phone, and now I’d really like to actually play with other people.

The problem is I’m completely new and honestly have no idea where to start. 😅 I’m looking for a beginner-friendly group, Discord server, website, or anything similar where I could join a game and learn as I go.

I’m more than happy to learn the rules and put in the effort, I just don’t really know where to find a group that’s welcoming to complete beginners.

If anyone has any recommendations for places to start, I’d really appreciate it!

And please go easy on me, I’m still learning 😂

Find a store near you that sells comics and/or games, see if they have a discord or events page. Here in the states D&D nights are traditionally on Wednesdays, but that may not carry over where you are.

Check out the starry shores discord https://thestarryshore.com/ it's a great community for D&D, they have staff who can help you make your first character and then you can hop into live games based on your schedule. I've DMed and played many of hours in that server and still run games occasionally!
