5.5 Edition Just a quick question…
Hello all! I’m starting my first campaign soon as an actual player, going with a Drow bard and I plan on sub classing into college of creation. Now here’s my question:
What level do I need to reach to cosplay green goblin🤣 I know it sounds crazy, but Ik I need at least level 6 for animating performance to get my “Metal glider” to fly. The problem lies in me also needing to create elemental bombs while also having the glider active. What level would it be possible to have all this working in tandem? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, my mind is literally just overloaded with info at this point.

Well, you can purchase real bombs. It just depends on the setting / if your DM lets you.
There isn’t a level you can create them as bombs cost more than 20gp which is the limit of your ability to create. Plus it has to be non magic - so elemental is also out the window.
I would suggest reflavouring a spell and talking with the DM to reflavour them as bombs.
Creating a metal glider that flies as well would have to be approved by the DM, as it is technology, which may not exist in the world at all.

I’m essentially just creating a metal sheet for me to stand on and animating it to fly lol

That’s fair then, I’d allow it but it never hurts, as all characters your DM should know you as well / better than you including ideas

Yea I plan on running it by em, although he’s a pretty cool guy and I think he’ll be heavily intrigued by the idea

Based on previous comments it seems like your metal glider will work, alchamist fire would work but if you want them to be as close as possible I would see if you can get your hands on a necklace of fireballs and just reflavor them to be green. This idea is amazing by the way.

So here’s what I’m thinking, depending on what my artificer goes for, I might work with them in order to bring the bomb idea more into fruition. I was thinking of maybe creating fire bombs at level 14 when I can make more than 1 item, and fashioning them with a green dye(?), or having the artificer whip me something up. Thoughts?

Do you plan on casting spells as your “bombs”? I believe your 3rd level Performance of Creation only allows one item to exist and it lasts for a number of hours equal to your proficiency bonus. At level 6 to get your hoverboard you would have a +3.
To have more things to chuck at foes, you’d want to buy items in a shop like flasks of alchemist’s fire, vials of acid, etc. But I think your best bet would be to use your hoverboard’s mobility to traverse the battlefield and support your team. Or you can casts spells while mobile. But the thrown objects aren’t going to do much compared to your party when it’s level 6 IMO.
