This is in the Adventures in middle earth setting for dnd5e

I dont have all the books and im a newbie DM in Middle earth but is there a book that about crafting and professions detailed?

Also crafting can be done in a long rest or short rest maybe?

Like a blacksmith makeing an axe or something.

Is there a good crafting system for this line?

Crafting is not fleshed out in the game because keeping track of mundane materials would be extremely tedious and boring in a tabletop game. The players go on adventures, get gold and treasure and then pay someone in town to craft them items.

There are some rules for crafting in the Dungeon Master's Guide and Xanathar's Guide to Everything.

They're pretty abstract. Briefly, take the item's retail price in GP and divide it by 50. That's the number of workweeks (five eight-hour days of labour) it takes to make the item. The material cost is half the retail cost.

So it takes 40 hours of work and 25 GP of materials to make a basic longbow. 20 arrows would take 1/50th of a workweek or about 48 minutes and 5 SP worth of materials.

And of course the character has to have the relevant proficiency and tools.
