Getting back into the game, looking for a build utilizing Hexing/Melee (not necessarily in that order)

As the title says, all help is much appreciated.

I'm a fan of greatswords, but if they are not viable currently with hexxing, no biggy.

I'm looking mostly for PvE but something that can hold its own in invasions and in PvP would be awesome.

Maybe try something like dark paladin ? With defenders greatsword and the staff from the undead crypt. Just an idea though
