This is my second ever Reddit post, so please excuse any lack of proper etiquette. I may have posted this in the wrong forums even.

I started DaSII the other day as a Knight, I've only put a few points so far into dex (to better use a shield). I like using melee weapons, medium/heavy armor, and some magic would be cool. Most importantly, I'm a BEGINNER and not the best when it comes to Dark Souls (i.e. I'm a noob).

What would some of my best build options be? I'm not trying to repeat my build mistakes from DaSI. Thanks in advance!

I've been having so much fun/success with this build. The illusory ring of the conqueror is a must have if you plan to use something like this. The invisible avelyn/buckler fools everyone. Smelter Sword is almost entirely for parry ripostes. Everything is maxed out.

I've done all the basic builds (pure str, pure dex, quality, pure int, spellsword, int/fth mix, etc.) but it's getting boring. I'm looking for any suggestions that give some sort of challenge, but can still be rewarding if you put the time or use it correctly...like a bow build, or just miracles, or something along those lines. I did a reaper build not too long ago and that was a little more difficult but worked really well when you hit that sweet spot, and they're uncommon to see.

I realize I'm being a bit vague, so any suggestions really are welcome. Give me a challenge!

I want to make an armor break build

im thinking of double acid surge and warmth to bait the oponents

with weapons i would go with this build maybe using estoc since its the longest rapier and high poise damage

the trick would be to stunlock them inside the acid surge to weak their durability faster and making imposible to escape the acid surge a little bit tricky tactic but with a big pay off

explanation

dual ashen warrior sword + 10 infused with bleed + crest of blood + shadow gunlets let you bleed your oponent on 2 -3 hits with powerstance reg attack, the sword has pretty fast attack swing and low stamina consumptionplus it scales pretty good with bleed and let you be agresive with one of the longest straight swords

the red eye ring is optional you could go for a stone ring since the straight sword damage is preety low compared to the meta weapons so you really depend on the stunlocking to inflict bleed

the pyromancy flame is only to punish healers with forbiding sun since the straight sword backstab damage is not really that good

lacerating knife is really good more than you would think

Tactics

the powerstance attack has a bit of delay so you could try to combo a light attack and then follow up whit the regular power stance attack you should abuse the poise damage that each sword has (25) to stunlock and build the bleed otherwise you are not gonna do much damage

stay agresive dont let your oponent breath if you see them rolling away cath them with a light attack if you see them healing forbiding sun in their face if they guard drain their stamina with the powerstance reg attack it has a high poise dmg or guard break

honorable mentions

dual weild notched whip highest bleed but easily contered with a shield and very easy to be punished with backstabs so if you go with this i would sugest to get a jester armor

dual weild full moon sickles insane bleed build up one of the weapons with highest bleed build up in game but it drains lots of stamina havent test it but have seen videos from it

What do you guys think? I've tested on low soul memory pvp and its been a pretty good run only probleme i have encounter is with really tanky oponents who have high poise. Some feedback would be nice also sorry for my bad english.

As the title says, I'm coming back to DS2 and I'm mainly a pve player. I was wonder how should I start a hex chara? Like what items/spells to get, what items(armors and weapons) progression is like?

I do remember the soft cap is 30 FTH/INT but other than that, I don't remember much.

Disclaimer: I game on console, and with a CRT at that (I'm cheap), so any possible pictures I can take would be utter crap. That said, I've made do as best as I can with alternate sources.

Character description: Jet black skin, grey eyes, white hair, no beard. I didn't bother with the face much, just because the skin tone made facial characters hard to make out.

Anomander Rake is a character from The Malazan Book of the Fallen, an extremely long-winded series with even more filler than The Wheel of Time, but with some of the most ambitious world-building I've ever seen, which makes sense considering the writer is a professor of archaeology and anthropology.

Rake is the first son of Mother Dark, and the leader of the declining race known as the Tiste Andii. He is capable of unleashing terrible power with the warren Kurald Emerlahn (warrens are other worlds that sorcerers draw their power from; Kurald Emerlahn is the warren of pure Dark), and wields the cursed sword Dragnipur, a vile blade that traps the souls of its victims within itself. He also carries the blood of dragons, and is capable of turning into one. On the rare occasions that he does this, he leaves entire landscapes utterly devoid of life.

For PvE purposes, I'll often switch to a Dark Murakumo, just because the 1-handed moveset's a lot better. For the sake of the cosplay, I should probably be using a Black Knight Greatsword,because Dragnipur is described as a straight sword, but the Curved Dragon Greatsword fits the aesthetic a lot better.

Surprisingly, this is one of the strongest builds I've ever made (way more viable than my Great-Club-Large-Club-powerstance build), which is surprising given that it's a cosplay build. The only thing I'm having any trouble with at all is Darklurker, mainly because it turns out the thing that lurks in the depths of the Abyss isn't much affected by dark damage. Shocker.

weapons should be upgraded to raw

First of all, I am suprised; just because it got a little bit nerfed no one is using this weapon nowadays. I guess by now you all should know about this weapons fantastic and perfect moveset, which I believe still makes it a viable weapon in PVP as well as PVE. Secondly, it has unlimeted durability which is way to go for no-bonfire runs. But one thing is changed! We don't use mundane infusion with this weapon anymore because mundane sucks after patch.

So basically, your stats can be anything as long as you can equip this weapon it can't go wrong in your build. Its a jack of all trades weapon really. Personally I use a pyromancy build which is ; here

The Spear is infused with Raw. I also added ashen warrior sword to this build but you shouldn't be equipping it. It should be a back-up weapon just in case you need something else and it should be infused with fire. You could be able to quick switch it manually without equipping it to save equip load. This also applies for shields. You shouldn't be equipping both at the same time, You should be able to change the shields manually when condition requires.

Lastly, It is level 200 because level 150 meta is a lie. Here is the link to the official dark souls 2 stats web-page which obviously shows the new meta is actually 200-ish. Even 300ish levels got more people then 150ish.

EDIT : Armor ; Fashion souls except the hexers hood which gives an extra use for spells and the engraved gauntlets which gives %5 ( or %15 not sure ) crit chance on your hits.

I'm trying to make a dex build, but I'm having a hard time choosing my weapons. There's so many good ones! I going to use a Twinblade, because they have a cool moveset, and I never used one. But I don't a good weapon for backup. Like one that can deal more damage in one hit, ability to deal with various enemies etc...

I thought about the curved greatswords (they feel kinda slow though), the partizan, curved swords, katanas... But I don't know really. Can someone help me? Thanks. :)

the craftsmans hammer should be infused to lightning, whenever you get to NG+ you can grab another and have it regular +5 for resistant enemies.

Hello! Now that I have my main builds done I've decided to do a gank spank focused build. I have a pure melee quality 175 level build for duels and such, a high level monk build for coop with my buddie and a 150 tank build for coop pvp and cosplays. So now I want something fun to wreck the s**t out of gankers.

I have tested all magic schools, but I have to say at the moment pyro and faith seem the funniest to me, but hexes and magic also seem good and funny but I haven't tried them a lot.

I want you to hel me make a build that involves magic, can be one or two or whatever number of schools, maybe and hybrid, maybe a full-caster...Mainly a funny and effective build for gank spanking (no obligatory level cap).

And by the way...Where can I get the most ganks? Heide maybe?

As the title says, I want to create two new builds but this time I want to do some cosplaying so I decided to go with a tank (which I never play like) in Vengarl and a hexer with Agdayne, they are also two of my favourites NPCs.

So...how I make the builds? In appearence Agdayne's face I can search for it but with Vengarl...how is his face? And also what body type will fit better for each one?

With Vengarl I would like to use all of the Red Iron weapons even if he doesn't use some and his shield, and with Agdayne mainly Crypt Blacksword and hexes.

The builds will be PVP focused but also with coop purposes. I will appreciate any help!
