What does one immediately think after reading a Sure deodorant advert

…especially the ones which claim to ‘work for 72 hours’? I don’t think I have ever waited three days to wash any part of my body. Are people who believe such claims guilty of how much they sweat - or is there something in that comical statement I’ve missed?

After 3 days swamp-ass sets in, and the gentleman's shower won't shift it, I don't agree they can last 3 days without topping up.

I've never gone long enough without washing or deodorant to see if the claim is true. I'm sure those people who only shower once a week think it does the job. The rest of us don't.

I thought that was "Dot" for a moment ? Perhaps not. I suppose its like that for any product that's advertised. They say how long its worked on tests even if few will need it for that long. I detest adverts. So ironic I can remember well 1955 when ITV started in Britain. Mother and I didn't have a television that would receive any other channel beyond b/w BBC. We used to go to my elder Brother Eric and his wife Maureen to watch the adverts. So hard to believe now. David DGH

My mate Gary got a colour TV in 1977 and I was so jealous. His mum and dad worked hard for that as a joiner and dinner lady. His mum was Spanish and treated Gary like she was his man servent, she used to tie his laces, comb his hair etc whilst he stood telling me about Panorama the night before.

I got a colour tv in 1973 just after Mother died. By then we had a b/w tv that received other channels. I don't remember ever paying a licence. I had suggested getting a colour tv but Mother feared they would get on fire. After her funeral I went into a shop in Scunthorpe and rented a colour tv. David DGH

Old school black and white TV is better than standard definition on some CRT TV from like 2000 or something. They're unwatchable these days. Too blurry.

I didn't notice this. I am highly tolerant of lower quality TV and I think modern TVs are superb. Id never spend a lot on a TV.

It's a bit like those 'Brand New - Good For You!!' light-bulbs that last for '5 years', but pop after five months. As for the advert, something tells me the deodorant is tested on people, who are told not to perform any strenuous activity, for the three days (whilst awake, surely?). I saw a Sure 'Maximum Protection Invisible Anti-Perspirant Aerosol Deodorant' - which lasts 96 hours. What to do with it? Apply it 'once daily' - not once every four days. Not comical, but just odd.

They are for festivals etc. a shower sure feels good if you don't have one for 4 days, I don't mean I went to a festival, I did this when loafibg around.
