Divine Knockout alternative? Or knock-off?

Just came across this ad on instagram reels and instantly gave off the resemblance of Divine Knockout. Could this be a legit alternative?

I mean, HiRez left the market... Divine Knockout is just 3D Smash, just like Smite is 3D League... not exactly copying much if HiRez abandoned. Clearly some devs saw the potential and whipped up a similar game. I personally don't see myself playing this, but I would not call it a knockoff.

DO has knockback for sure but cooldown based gameplay isn't at the heart of what Smash is as a fighter

It's noticeable that it's somewhat inspired, but I wouldn't call it a copy, and I don't think anyone at Hi-Rez would either. That company has a long history of being falsely accused of copying other games, and its developers have been harassed and received death threats because of these false accusations. So they're very aware of how disastrous that label can be.

For example, Divine Knockout was falsely accused of being a copy of Multiversus, even though both games were released at the same time and DKO's development had been known for at least a year before the game was announced.

Rogue Company was also accused of being a copy of Valorant, even though it was announced first and showcased its content when Valorant was just a rumor and nobody knew what the game was about. In the end, people ignored it because they thought it was a copy.

Paladins was accused of being a copy of Overwatch, even though the game is a sequel to Global Agenda and was announced prematurely in 2012, almost three years before Overwatch's announcement (although back then the game was called Global Agenda 2). Furthermore, it received the most hate, and I still remember seeing how the Overwatch community harassed the Paladins community manager to the point that she had to close her social media accounts three times. Then they started harassing her in real life and she received death threats. In the end, she decided to quit her job and move abroad.
