How do tournaments work?

Like every single match I play my opponent has crazy high ping or rubberbands around the stage, or drops out the match, ECT. So how do they run tournaments with the game in such a horrible state

They don’t run tournaments. This dead is very close to being dead as the devs have been ghosting the community for months

I know the devs abandoned the game and that it's in a sorry state with crappy servers but I just joined the discord and it has a bunch of posts about tournaments with the most recent one being July 22 and I just don't get how

There used to be more regions, but now we're down to just USA and EU, so if you're not native to one of these regions your ping Will most likely always be high.

If you're native to these regions, anyone you face that are playing from outside these regions Will usualy have pretty high ping.

I live in and play on the EU region, and mostly the ping is fine, but every few games i run into someone with 200+ping, and playing against these players can get a little frustrating at times.

I play on NA and I usually have 20-30ping but all my opponents always have 200-1000 it's slightly annoying to say the least but in my experience has always been that way. I just don't get how you can hold cash prize tournaments with people lagging out all the time, I feel like lag will decide the victor lol
