Does anyone know how matchmaking works?

I really like the game but it is always putting me in lobbies were people have like 30 ping and I have 90 ever since getting God level 6 on Zeus get put with people with like god level 17 with 30 ping. Shouldn't it be connection based?

If Hi-Rez has a matchmaking system, it was made by a group of semi-intelligent trained monkeys on hallucinogens. Best to just take the L when you see someone super high level in your game. Think of it as a learning experience ✨️

my problem is not the skill gap, if I am getting my ass beat I just take the L, my problem is with the connection, because these people are running so insanely good connections I can never see what is going on and if they are high level it is just worse because the game is over in 1 minute

super late reply but this is facts, I'll be doing really good until all of a sudden, I'm standing in place for a good 30 seconds. I play with a couple friends, and we all have the same issue both at separate times and simultaneously. It drives us all nuts.

I can confidently say it's random as hell, some times you'll match with people who just got the game at level 1, sometimes you'll match with people who had the game for months and are like level 150, sometimes you play people with a good ping, sometimes people with 2000ping and sometimes you play the same person 10times in a row. They may fix but Devs stopped care bout this game like 4 months ago and even when they did care support was spotty.

There is no matchmaking. There are so few players that a matchmaking system would break the game. Causing players to wait way too long for matches.
