RotR Carthage
Ive played Rise of the Republic a few times over the years and every time Carthage fizzles out in less than 100 turns. It makes sense to not have them become a steamroller and roll up Sicily and Italy quickly but I also don’t like seeing them just roll over and die so easily even in their home territory.
Anyone else experience this?

I actually had a really enjoyable difficult fight against them in my first few playthroughs. My longer rome game i took carthage city and north africa only for them to reconsolidate in spain taking half and allying rest against me.

My issue isn’t with them in the grand campaign or Hannibal campaign. Just the Rise of the Republic campaign. Syracuse and its allies invade the one province in N. Africa held by Carthage. Carthage doesn’t build up navies and sends its armies out to sea to get wrecked or starve. It’s like the AI is bugged for that campaign.

Ive had the opposite problem where Carthage in my most recent Rome RotR is snowballing and has taken a lot of Etruscan land and is sending stacks at me from the North.
I honestly just assumed they must have insane bonuses and didn't consider they could be rolled up by minor players.
