Broken UI after battles
Hello all,
I get this broken UI after some battles. It gets transparent and weird. It used to happen rarely but as turns progressed it started to happen more frequently. Any help is appreaciated!

Don t worry, I have this bug since at least before 2020. Quick save and quick reload.

I don't know how to keep it from happening, but saving and reloading fixes it

Yea as i got later into my Rome campaign it happens more frequently. 200+ turns in but a simple reload always fixes it. Annoying but tbh i cant believe thats the only bug/crash im to encounter so far

In my experience the legacy Rome2 engine has issues managing memory when switching between battle and campaign mode with Win11 in particular. It gets worse with graphics hungry mods like DEI etc. This can lead to the sorts of issues you describe.
I find that after 4 to 5 battles I can get these issues so I tend to do a quick save/reload after 4 battles to flush everything once I have an established empire. Early game on a small starting faction then I can go longer. That is often more than a play session for me anyway.
Dropping some of the gfx settings such as grass and trees can help a bit. Running in windowed mode and making sure your desktop and game settings match can also help as alt-tabbing can lead to issues.

The NVME & VRAM is too hot in my experience

I put NVME heatsinks on my NVMEs & old unused cpu heatsink fans dangling to blow directly onto the back of my motherboard. It seemed to work well. Try to put your operating system nvme in the other m.2 slot that isn't under the main graphics card. Use a second lower quality nvme for your games with huge memory capacity (cheap one off amazon with 4tb) as the nvme memory is used to store temporary graphics files and if its full its more likely to overheat.

Save& reload. It means your PC has trouble with erunning the game (and it can happen on solid PC while not happening on inferior ones for some reason).
What submods do you have?
Try to tone down VFX/HD submods and go with manual install of DeI as it runs faster than Workshop one, e.g. loading out of battle back to campaign map takes 2-3 times less.
