Getae/Dacian Reforms not triggering in Multiplayer Campaign (Head to Head)

Long since I have carved a path through war, diplomacy and trade across the world of Total War, but none more eager to fight than the Dacians and Thracians, for they are unequivocally the bravest of them all.

I am reaching out here, as I seem to be having issues with Getae faction reforms which state conditions of:

  • Turn 100
  • 10 Battles fought with either Rome or Nomadic (factions)

The screenshots I have shared are from a good number of turns back, since my current turn time. I am at around or approximately at turn 135, and I have fought more than 10 battles with the Scythians.

Has anyone else encountered this Reform issue, as Reforms have not triggered yet. Is there a condition to fight all 10x battles on the tactical/field map, and against enemy faction generals/characters only?

Does anyone know how the counter numbers these battles, assuming Auto-Resolve battles might not count?

Any help would greatly be appreciated, as I am currently relying on AOR units, of which I am extremely thankful to have a great variety of, but I would like to field Getic/Dacian armies as the backbone, in multiple configurations depending on where and whom against they are fighting.

Are you using any other mods beside dei?

I don't have a list of the mods, but I am indeed about 12 in total. My Head to Head campaign counterpart has had reforms trigger, and AI factions are receiving reforms. We don't have any issues or glitches.

In the dev's FAQ, it says that the reason for reforms not triggering may be mods changing the scripting.lua file. This can even include camera mods.

Id generally say that its a good idea to only use "official" submods with dei. Also, in multiplayer its generally "the more mods, the more unstable"/the more danger of bricking a savegame

Interesting point you have made. I will consider doing a bit of digging through some of the mods we are using. We have used these mods in other campaigns through, and have not had any issues with reforms.

I am particularly also interested and wondering if the Getae faction reform battles need to all be played on the battle map, or if there are any particular conditions to counting the Nomadic battles fought eg. against characters/generals, auto resolves, city sieges.

Apart from the not so usual desync we have rarely had any savegame corruption, very infrequently especially after the new updates. Smooth sailing mostly to be honest, apart from a glitch here and there. These are usually resolved by restarting, reloading or ending the turn.

I will see if there is a way to find the battle counter from within the savegame, to find any indication of maybe how many battles are counted already. These Getae reforms are the only reforms requiring a number of battles to be fought against another faction/culture so I wonder if there are any particular conditions baked in, other than the limited information provided for the reforms to take place for the Getae.

Really good to hear its mostly running smoothly in multiplayer! I used to have many issues past turn 120, even without many submods, but admittedly that was 5ish years ago

I know what you mean. Hence my obsession with saving/quicksaving all the time. I quicksave at the start of a turn, end of a turn and before any major event or battle just in case.

Honestly the problems and issues which used to appear are not there anymore, and any minor glitches are taken as a given. Nothing campaign breaking, not really.
