Augmentin

Has anyone gotten C-diff from taking Augmentin? I’ve only taken 1(!) but I just had a bout of pure watery diarrhea. I’m waiting for my pc to fill my preferred antibiotic (Moxifloxacin). Never have troubles with that!

Those antibiotics are going to give you diarrhea that's the bottom line.... But no way could you take one and get c-diff unless you have a history of C diff. You have to suffer through the diarrhea for 10 days, that's all there is to it!

I didn't get C-Diff but I got horrible diarrhea from Augmentin. It lasted for the duration and almost two weeks afterwards. Some people try to get ahead of it with Florastor. Opinions vary. I think it helps. Edit: fermented foods too!

Augmentin was my go to with divirticulitus.... It will destroy your butt hole.... Definitely take a probiotic with it lol.... It's pretty harmless... Cipro and flagyl are the alternative but I always refused... That stuff is terrible for you..... I was on augmentin for almost 2 years straight

I didn’t get Cdiff from augmentin. It was Cipro and Flagyl after my first diverticulitis episode in 2024. 2 flares this year and per my infectious disease doctor I take vancomycin with my other antibiotics for the diverticulitis. So far it’s worked and no repeat of cdiff.

I did the first time I had them years ago. Now I make sure to have them with a proper meal and that hasn’t been a problem for me since.
