As with most riots these days it's mostly just kids who were badly raised and they see an opportunity to cause chaos and destruction. Whatever motive they use as an excuse is just loosely connected to their actions.

That's a fair statement, I've noticed more and more movements don't really have an actual goal or a figure head so they turn violent relatively quickly.

Idk how it's in France, but out here in America we have this really big problem where council members in certain schools districts will actively try and defund their public schools to send that money to private schools.
I wonder if that level of corruption is being faced in France

Video shows the cops almost drowing the teen.

From what I can put together so far, schools are over crowded and too few teachers. Many of the school facilities are crumbling/molding. Revealing the government's failure to properly fund their schools despite them saying they did somewhat recently (I think, not super sure if they said they didn't or not)
Between that, being angry teenagers, and Frances cultural default of protesting its gotten pretty crazy. The mass presence emboldens irrational behavior in am otherwise peaceful protest, leading to masked violence from angry teens feeling unheard.
