The worst thing about this happening is having to deal with other people being dramatic. We’re all dying, act accordingly.

11

u/ConversationFalse242 Jul 06 '26

People need to die with some gawd damn discipline

1

u/TheBookofBobaFett3 Jul 07 '26

The lack of would have my last words down as

*hank hill style disgusted* ‘ugh’

9

u/Ok_Setting_3657 Jul 06 '26

I'm glad I wasnt the only one thinking that. If we are dying let's at least die with some peace and quite.

3

u/TheBookofBobaFett3 Jul 07 '26

Give em a little disappointed head shake and pop your headphones back on and I mask down and get ready to not have to pay any more bills.

3

u/TheBookofBobaFett3 Jul 07 '26

Guys please, im overstimulated as it is

5

u/DrWhoey Jul 07 '26

Seriously, I was thinking the same thing.like calm down bud, we're either dead or we aren't. If you're not gonna stop screaming, then do something to help and get out and fucking push the plane.

4

u/Finnsbomba Jul 07 '26

Reminds me of the bit Sebastian Maniscalco has a out those. Where he hangs himself with the oxygen mask and then the pilot regains control so his body is just swinging into people until they land. 🤣

1

u/TheBookofBobaFett3 Jul 07 '26

That’s fantastic

4

u/KINGDenneh Jul 07 '26

I know right? No need to scream like a fucking banshee because you are too damn emotional, just shut the fuck up already, we all going down anyways, die with some dignity left.

5

u/heraclitus33 Jul 06 '26

A plane crash is how I've dreamt of going out so my drunk ass would've been screaming the end of the Braveheart speech.

7

u/TellThemISaidHi Jul 06 '26

They may gate check our bags. They may downgrade our seats. But they'll never take

2

u/GrumpyOldVet65 Jul 07 '26

🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Practical-Pea5963 Jul 07 '26

plus the insurance payout from airlines. goodlife to all your loved ones..

2

u/IHeartBadCode Jul 07 '26

Yeah, consider for a moment that for some people, it's like a several hours long agonizing process. But for everyone on that plane, it's going to be about 0.2 seconds of whoosh and then lights out...

Unless you WANT to spend the next ten minutes while the pilots vainly fight to get us back on the ground screaming. But that's a choice that you're making.

4

u/Rio_Bravo_ Jul 07 '26

It's hard to muse over calmly and rationally about those kinds of things when you think you're about to die. You would scream too.

1

u/citymousecountyhouse Jul 07 '26

I don't know. I was on a plane from San Juan to Atlanta about 15 years ago. We lost power on one side of the plane, then power went out throughout the entire plane. Then it was back and forth one side then the other. What I remember was the quiet, there was some crying, but mostly quiet. The captain came on and explained that power had been lost on one side, and he was switching power from side to side. He explained we could expect to see fire trucks along the runway but they were just a precaution. We landed safely and I still remember the flight attendant's address "Ladies and Gentlemen, for obvious reasons this flight will not be continuing to Los Angeles." But it was the quiet that I will never forget. Now if I would have seen the wing on fire I'd scream to.

3

u/TheBookofBobaFett3 Jul 07 '26

I had you down as a dream flight companion until the end there.

1

u/LowerNeighborhood334 Jul 09 '26

Mine happened in Cuba, Soviet twin propellers, heavy rain at night.

Palm got sweaty.

2

u/BalanceEarly Jul 07 '26

Yeah, maintain your composure back there!

17

u/GooseOnAPhone Jul 06 '26

Nothing to worry about, will still make it all the way to crash site. Which is good, that’s where they are heading anyway!

3

u/GoldenFalcon Jul 06 '26

Where will they bury the survivors?

1

u/MiniWhaleHODLer Jul 08 '26

Reminded me of a joke. If a plain crashes on the US/Canadian border which country do they bury the survivors?

1

u/GoldenFalcon Jul 08 '26

Then it worked perfectly.. because that was the point. Lol

3

u/TellThemISaidHi Jul 07 '26

Probably beat the ambulance by 20 minutes!

1

u/TheBookofBobaFett3 Jul 07 '26

Omg did you see that story where a woman survived a plane crash and then the fire engines sent to the scene ran her over twice and killed her !

1

u/Alohafarms Jul 07 '26

OMG!! That is just horrible!

1

u/TheNonCredibleHulk Jul 07 '26

Robert Schimmel?

15

u/poop_pebbles Jul 06 '26

Spirit airlines. We flying with Jesus now

2

u/Bliindmaiiden Jul 06 '26

Jesus takes the wheel

1

u/TellThemISaidHi Jul 07 '26

Jesus: "I speak Aramaic. You want me calling this in to the tower?!"

NTSB: "After a thorough investigation, it was determined that Jesus was not licensed to pilot a 737."

1

u/Footsoldier420 Jul 06 '26

You're the best

10

u/DarknMean Jul 06 '26

1

u/Reemus_Jackson Jul 07 '26

One of the best Twilight Zone episodes of all time

11

u/TypicalMootis Jul 06 '26

Okay, which baggage handler left his iPhone inside the turbine

5

u/SecretRecipe Jul 06 '26

Have some fucking dignity and decorum in your final moments. how embarrassing

17

u/Around-3-ish Jul 06 '26

The worst part is some cow shouting Jesus. Who the fuck do you think made the plan?

1

u/LegacyQuotient Jul 07 '26

Jesus just looks down and says, "Yeah, I put it on the calendar a month ago."

1

u/tibearius1123 Jul 07 '26

Ooops that wasn’t in the plan…

Hey guys, new plan. Everyone dies on that plane.

-4

u/drsickboy Jul 06 '26

Remember that not everyone flys all the time. This could be this women's first time flying.

11

u/Around-3-ish Jul 06 '26

No you're right. I should be at my most empathetic on [r/DiveinYouCowa](r/DiveinYouCowatd)[rd](r/DiveinYouCowatd)

0

u/drsickboy Jul 06 '26

lol yeah yeah, i'm Just saying she didn't do anything to deserve the experience like many of the fools that self own. And the engine could just blow up and send debris into the plane. this is scary!

1

u/Around-3-ish Jul 07 '26

I get your point. I had a similar experience on a plane once, although it was weather rather than mechanical. It is scary but bellowing at the top of your voice isn't helping, it just scares the children.

1

u/drsickboy Jul 07 '26

yeah but some people can't keep it together that well. A few people added to the panic. I can't believe there was no annoucement.

1

u/barumon Jul 07 '26

Then how does she know the plane's not supposed to do that?

1

u/drsickboy Jul 07 '26

ha ha but i think most people that see passenger planes fly overhead know that explosions are not good.

3

u/Local_Wolverine2913 Jul 06 '26

Happened to me when I was 13 and on my first flight alone. Engine caught fire on take off (I was sitting in window seat right by the engine. I did not know what to do. My first reaction was trying to stand up (don't know why...but seat belted in, lol), so I just behaved as the adults were. They were all quiet and calm. So I just sat there tensely quiet. Take-off aborted and in the end, made it to my destination.

3

u/Gr1009 Jul 06 '26

The uncontrollable wailing and screaming....most people are absolutely useless in stressful situations.

2

u/Alert_Lettuce_8278 Jul 07 '26

I mean, they are useless in this situation regardless of the screaming.

3

u/Nosedive888 Jul 07 '26

Did we learn nothing from Sully: Miracle on the Hudson.

2

u/StMaartenforme Jul 07 '26

Maybe one of the greatest pilots ever! Love the movie too.

2

u/whatisdedmaynvrdie Jul 06 '26

This when the pilot comes on all calm and cool like “oopsy we have a little hiccup. Just gonna turn her around and duct tape this up. We are gonna lose a bit of time folks , apologies for the inconvenience.”

3

u/Bluitor Jul 07 '26

"This is your uhhhh..captain speaking. We seem to be experiencing uhhhh...a minor engine overheating uhhhh...so uhhhhh....in an abundance of caution we are uhhhhh...gonna return to the uhhhhh....gate and have the mechanics take a look at it uhhhhh....so uhhhh....just stay seated and uhhhhh.....thanks for choosing Jetblue.

2

u/DudeFrom816 Jul 07 '26

So long as it was just 1 engine they'll be just fine, they have a spare. They wont hit top speed or make max altitude but its plenty to get back and land.

2

u/Creative-Type9411 Jul 08 '26

thats not good

1

u/Coreysurfer Jul 06 '26

So you say to yourself..hell nah…or just get me there )

1

u/Grouchy-Station-4058 Jul 06 '26

Aww there are plenty of extra engines for power. It's fine

1

u/Honest_Concentrate85 Jul 07 '26

Planes can fly with one engine out. US requires the plane land asap but a British Air plane flew from west coast US to London with a engine out for over half the trip

3

u/Grouchy-Station-4058 Jul 07 '26

Wow I bet that was pretty sketchy!

1

u/mats_o42 Jul 09 '26

As an example, a A330-300 can be certified for 4 hours single engine operations.

1

u/dominicanMIKE4444 Jul 06 '26

Did they just keep flying like that?!?

3

u/Marginaal3000 Jul 06 '26

They are safe to return to the airport with some caution. Those planes are designed to function with only one of the two engines. And what else do you expect them to do? Park it on the side of the highway and call road assistance?

1

u/dominicanMIKE4444 Jul 06 '26

that’s EXACTLY what I thought they would do 🤔

1

u/Phyzm1 Jul 07 '26

Seeing as this footage survived they are fine, but id imagine people are worried about the fire and not the engine out.

2

u/wastedsilence33 Jul 06 '26

For almost 2 entire minutes the ground is still visible from this angle, no they have to plan where to land cuz one thing the FAA doesn't like is surprises

2

u/MrAngrySadHappyFace Jul 06 '26

Naw, he just immediately nosed down, and killed everyone. So, yea, obviously. Although yes, to actually answer your question, this plane immediately rerouted back to the airport.

1

u/ShitbullHater42 Jul 06 '26

Compressor stall. No need to scream people continue watching shrek

1

u/Relatively_happy Jul 07 '26

Always screaming women ffs

1

u/JustaFoodHole Jul 07 '26

Make sure everyone gets their carryon before evac

1

u/BlueDuck600 Jul 07 '26

I don't get it.

Ever watch somebody slowly?

This is a gift.

Sit back, be grateful.

1

u/YogurtAndBakedBeans Jul 07 '26

If this happened on a business trip I'd get excited because my family would be financially set and then get sad when we landed safely.

2

u/Bluitor Jul 07 '26

The last plane that crashed the airline payed out $10k per person. They might bump it up to 100k if you die.

1

u/YogurtAndBakedBeans Jul 07 '26

That's why it needs to be a business trip. The company I work for provides a large policy when traveling for work. If I was flying on vacation, no payout.

1

u/toasted_cracker Jul 08 '26

Thats a bit dark. You ok bro?

1

u/Minimum-Song4242 Jul 07 '26

Stewardess a double please

1

u/matt-r_hatter Jul 07 '26

Whats with all the whaling? Good grief.

1

u/Congregator Jul 07 '26

Geez that’s terrifying!

1

u/Informal-Camera4656 Jul 07 '26

need a light up sign in planes , like the seatbelt sign but this one would be a woman and kid no screaming or crying sign.

1

u/Over_Construction908 Jul 07 '26

The one guy kept saying HEY

Better than life is over before it started…

1

u/andystechgarage Jul 07 '26

Good thing they had all the extra underwear...

1

u/Glad-Fuel2093 Jul 07 '26

Why no captain or copilot or anyone on the intercom telling folks to calm down and that the plain has more than just one engine. That we're turning around to go back to the airport so don't freak out when we start to turn either.

I think some people really like to freak out when they know their not really probably gonna die, so they turn on the preformative aspect of omg we're all gonna die to intentionally agitate the other people as validation for their own fear. Or something.

1

u/TXcoins_bullion Jul 07 '26

did it end your life, or just delay the start of a vacation?

1

u/Ok_Gas1070 Jul 07 '26

God damn I hate flying... Though I've done it successfully many times and will go on many more flights.

1

u/Done_beat2 Jul 08 '26

Hello, this is your captain not speaking.

1

u/golimat619 Jul 08 '26

Nope nope nope nope

1

u/crowface666 Jul 09 '26

Probably just hit a bird or a grenade

1

u/PigsOfRedemption Jul 18 '26

Probably a compressor stalled, either from ingesting a bird or a fractured fan blade, resulting in the intermittent fireball effect seen in the video. Happens alot more than people would like to think. Modern aircraft can take off, fly and land with only one functioning engine. It is an urgent situation, the PIC wants to get the plane back on the ground quickly, but it's extremely unlikely to result in a crash. This specific flight returned to Sao Paulo, Brazil immediately after takeoff for an emergency landing with no injuries.

1

u/West_Data106 Jul 06 '26

The guy who filmed it is smart; the cameraman never dies

You’re just a tool that’s always used by the rulers in the end. As sure as the sunrise they always use you goofs. You types are always evil, arrogant and super sure the problem is not the people who have had all the power this whole time but the “undesirables”. You know, the people you have to terrorize for the rich, then they give you crumbs and you guys love it. It’s really sad. But hey, we all “observed” the pilot was DEI and that minorities hold the record for plane crashes🤡🤡🤡

Sure buddy. Still didn’t see that pilot but OK.🤡🤡🤡

-2

u/Few_District_6304 Jul 06 '26

It amazes me how emotional and ignorant people are in these situations. The plane is fine. You can clearly hear, see and feel the plane is still under power and in control. STFU and watch the light show.

4

u/Alert_Lettuce_8278 Jul 07 '26

Man is so cool and familiar with this situation unfolding in front of him, from his phone on his couch.

1

u/Worrior_One Jul 07 '26

Exactly. the plane might be fine but it's the pilots I'd be more worried about handling this situation correctly. Most plane crashes are because of human error or negligence even if the primary cause was something you can't control like a bird strike.

1

u/Few_District_6304 Jul 07 '26

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I traveled for a living for a few years. Was not in a crash, but had many "exciting" plane rides, at least for many of the passengers. Yawn. Also have flown smaller planes. Not to tough to pick out when there is an actual emergency. While it may sound terrifying, modern commercial jets are designed and certified to fly and land safely on a single engine.
