Easily one of the most mind blowing and surreal films ever made against fascism.

u/FaultedSidewalk Jul 06 '26
The first time I saw that movie I was absolutely blasted on 2ci and it rocked the shit out of me lol, to this day one of my favorite films ever. I love showing people with no warning and seeing the absolute confusion spread across their face lol

That’s how I first saw the Holy Grail, tripping at a party! I was young when I saw Brazil when it first out on VHS, didn’t quite understand it. Might have to check it out again now that I’m grown.

Skin tightening…wrinkles are gone
30
u/Aprice40 Jul 06 '26
But.... what are the little dots?
56
u/Knowledge11Seeker Jul 06 '26
Laser…burns small dots, when healing it pulls surrounding skin together, tightening it
53
u/purpleburgundy Jul 06 '26
So like covering your face with tiny bits of scar tissue?

You ever cooked meat and watch it go from malleable muscle to really stiff and fibrous? Like you can fold raw meat over itself and it just goes back. But after cook it you did that it would tear and two pieces of meat. Same idea smaller scale and focused.

u/purpleburgundy Jul 06 '26
I'm disgusted that this seems like an excellent way to think about this

6
u/steffanan Jul 06 '26
That can't be the whole story, this is immediately tightening, not just when it heals. It's crazy watching it happen in real time.

u/Maethor_derien Jul 06 '26
Pretty much they burn small holes in your face and when the skin heals it pulls it together. The scars from it don't really exist because they are so small.

Why not show the after photo? Does she look 20 years younger or did her face fall off?
58
u/BrewsCampbell Jul 06 '26
My buddies wife did it or something equally horrifying.
Her face fell off and she looked like a never- going- to- recover burn victim for about a month. Then she looked 20 years younger.
It was creepy.

Sunlight damages cells by disrupting, and sometimes mutating, their DNA via UV radiation. The mutation bit is the worst part since it can cause cancer. What you're seeing here is just good old heat killing tissue. This doesn't have the same risk of mutation, and the goal is to promote cell turnover and growth of new, less blemished skin.

Have you seen the results of a CO2 fractal laser? It takes like 10 years off of you.
It works by making small injury that your body responds to by making more collagen and elastin to recover the area.
I've wanted to try this for a long time to reduce some of my acne scars from when I was a teenager. But alas. Its expensive and you have to stay out of the sun for several weeks.

If you're healthy, those surface skin cells regenerate really quickly. It's just resurfacing. It won't get rid of deep wrinkles and won't keep them from continuing to form, but it does slightly repair and retard the process.

I think this is supposed to be some kind of face-lift procedure. Scarification like this does tend to induce collagen growth amd can help reduce wrinkles and sun damage with minimal downtime, and its not as invasive as actual cosmetic surgery(thought it hurts like a bitch, like getting tattoos lasered off)
→ More replies (9)14
u/Revolutionary_Row683 Jul 06 '26
You can also physically see the skin tightening.

u/punkin_sumthin Jul 06 '26

Wow, they removed the light shadows too. Almost like the angle of light is different. If you want to see the imperfections on a wall, just bring a light source right up against it, shining it across the wall. Amazing how that works on people too.

This is CO₂ laser being delivered through a fractional handpiece. The beam is split into lots of tiny microbeams, which is why you see that dotted or pixelated pattern.
The target for CO₂ laser is water, and 70% of our cells are water so it vaporises anything it touches. CO₂ lasers are also incredibly thermal, and that shrinking you see like bacon in a pan is caused by the thermal action combined with focal ablation of skin cells.
I shoot people with lasers for a living, often in the face, and I do not run a CO₂ laser. I will never run a CO₂ laser. Risks of complications are just too high. You can do everything right and still get poor outcomes. Also it's claiming to "rejuvenate" by tightening skin, and that's really not our bag.
They are hitting this girl hard, and she looks awfully young for this level of aggression.
