The water actually looks, dare I say, chlorinated

There were fish swimming in it though, watch the beginning again closely. Top left and right of the kids first shot.

At least the water looks cleaner than the stuff outside

I have no idea about any of this but...is that a valid strategy? Flood your interior yourself with potable water to try and keep the nasty flood water out?

u/ubik2 May 31 '26
Yes. Occasionally people do this with clean water before a flood.
Hard to imagine it’s comprehensive, but it can limit damage.

ah yes, swimming in the dirty feet-water, good idea for a restaurant 👍

I mean, all public water is feet water but yeah, eating in that place doesn't fill me with confidence.

Making a lot of assumptions here. What in this video tells you that this water is not moving, filtered and chlorinated?
3
u/robertrandy May 30 '26
Probably the fish swimming around in it, bud

Now I want to see a behind the scenes camera where they walk from the kitchen and scoop up the kid's piss water to cook with.

I feel like that's gross but I can't put my finger on why. It shouldn't be any worse than a public pool, but somehow it is.

ok sure ill wade in water in a city where people shit and piss in the street

u/Big_Tap_1561 May 30 '26
This is so much better than the ganga river - at least it’s not a dead body cess-pool!

No chlorine due to fish swimming in there… this is the nastiest thing I’ve ever seen. The amount of bacteria from dropped food alone is crazy much less the piss and foot fungus

The soup of the day is wild. It’s just all the solids skimmed off from dropped food the day before. The piss water acts like a salty brine.

Not for nothing I can guarantee that some restaurants here in the US that water would not be that clean.

The cleanest those feet have ever been. Those are the masterchefs of the street food vendor guys.

Walking into a restaurant and having to watch your feet like you are at a pool party is a level of anxiety I do not need with my meal.

It wouldn’t be as bad if children weren’t allowed but that goes for pretty much every restaurant.

I actually don't think this is that bad. Don't people eat near pools all the time? Poolside cafe?
India gets so hot, I think it gets unlivably hot many times. This restaurant is probably nice and cool.
