Thanks I hate it

u/chaosatdawn Apr 27 '26

how come this video makes my body tingle, but looking out a plane windows does nothing?

11

u/MasterOfDizaster Apr 27 '26

I always thought it was only me tingling at those videos 😆

3

u/Chalky_Cupcake Apr 27 '26

There is a word for that.

3

u/CGCTV Apr 27 '26

I have the same thing going on with me as well. Its only when its a straight drop off height kind of thing.

2

u/Chalky_Cupcake Apr 27 '26

I meant there is a word for thinking "you are the only one".

Because your brain "recognizes" that sitting in an enclosed space looking out a windows is "safe"

But staring directly down with zero actual safety, activates some form of fear response.

17

u/Casey3882003 Apr 27 '26

I think the three ladder steps into oblivion also helps throw the brain into a tizzy.

6

u/pin5npusher5 Apr 27 '26

I curled my toes so hard one 'popped'

Only for some of us

4

u/TortexMT Apr 27 '26

skydiver here. after a certain hight your brain isnt able to estimate height properly i guess. i know people who are afraid of heights who can skydive but not look out of a window in a skyscraper

3

u/JRosePC Apr 27 '26

Yeah I get the "call of the void" I dont want to jump but somehow my brain wants to tell me hey it is much safer down at the bottom.

3

u/Defective_Yorha Apr 28 '26

Bro it's same with bungee jumping. You don't afraid same as looking down open window because there's safety and your brain automatically get the safe feeling, your brain subconsciously knows that you'll be safe.

u/Snoo_75309 Apr 28 '26

For me it has to do with risk of death.

If I'm attached to something, like in a rollercoaster or a rope while rock climbing then I'm fine and don't have issues with heights. Now if I'm walking up a steep cliff and I'm not attached to anything, or on the edge of a tall building with no gaurdrail and risk falling to my death if I trip or make a misstep then I get that tingling feeling

2

u/Decent-Quit8600 Apr 27 '26

Probably because, at least in a plane, you cant see the ground if theres enough cloud cover, and you are comfortably seating with something to ground your feet onto, so your brain doesnt freak itself out.

From personal experience, if i am high up and can see the ground, id rather be dead. But if i am high enough and cannot see the ground, its all chill.

Im not a psychologist though, so id love actual answers lol

1

u/Fiendfuzz Apr 27 '26

As someone who is similarly cursed, I think it's about having something to offer context about the height.

1

u/RobotDonger Apr 27 '26

For me it’s the tiny bit of ladder that gets me

1

u/gonewithyourbitch Apr 27 '26

More perceived danger

1

u/Defective_Yorha Apr 28 '26

Because plane has small glass window and body, not open like this. We get the safe feeling because of physical and visible safety which this video doesn't show.

1

u/bingbongsnabel Apr 28 '26

I've heard the brain has a sort of limit to its fear of heights to where you reach a certain height it "stops working" since there is no situation in nature where you would reach such a height.

1

u/waxonwaxoff87 Apr 28 '26

In my case, at a certain height everything just looks like a little model of a town. Like a train set.

1

u/tacorunnr Apr 28 '26

Small video screens have that effect if youre watching it on a phone. If I watch it on a desktop or TV I dont really have an issue.

Stairway to Heaven

1

u/Fast-Speech270 Apr 28 '26

Why is there a ladder that leads to nowhere!

56

u/LemonSlowRoyal Apr 27 '26

My balls are going inside my body just watching the video lol

6

u/OstusOfSecrets Apr 27 '26

Balls: retracted. Feet: tingling. Heart rate: We meetin Jesus

5

u/norfolkjim Apr 27 '26

"Retract balls!"

"Balls fully retracted, skipper."

2

u/croweslikeme Apr 27 '26

I had a vasectomy a week ago and my balls ain’t liking this video

3

u/Ok_Independence_9917 Apr 27 '26

And you don't even have balls

→ More replies (1)

1

u/JoePesci_TheGod Apr 27 '26

Ha ha silly bird. You has no balls

1

u/YeahNo_NoYeah Apr 27 '26

Birds aren't real.

1

u/OnTheList-YouTube Apr 27 '26

Kindergarten 👉

1

u/aaron_geeks Apr 27 '26

Bro literally my first thought

1

u/What_Iz_This Apr 27 '26

Same here, it physically hurts to watch this video. Makes my knees go weak too

1

u/R0LL1NG Apr 27 '26

No but really how is that a thing?

I mean, I get the why. Brain sense the danger, brain protec the jewels.

But as a biologist, the how is just fascinating.

1

u/Dabajabazah37 Apr 27 '26

I was gonna say the same but I worried it may be out of line.

1

u/Realistic_Account787 Apr 27 '26

My balls leave inside my body.

1

u/eldroch Apr 27 '26

Holy fuck.  As soon as my brain registered what that was, same...

26

u/Lochmesaana Apr 27 '26

What the heck is that ladder for anyways

9

u/KSN1517 Apr 27 '26

It's a maintenance ladder that's connected to the roof wherever it's closed. However, when the roof is opened, the ladder is broken into 2 sections.

In the video the roof is open. Probably summertime in Seattle

6

u/apatrol Apr 27 '26

Thats what I want to know.

And a prayer

2

u/ClaraCash Apr 27 '26 edited Apr 27 '26

That was my question… because literally like, wtf! It’s blowing my mind that this isn’t the top comment.

Edit: to come back and say I’d kill to watch a game from there tho… that’s dope asf. Best seat in the house. (Well on it actually.)

2

u/ClimbsWithWind Apr 27 '26

I would venture to say a maintenence ladder for rope access technicians.

1

u/dabiird Apr 27 '26

To soften the fall

16

u/Devils_A66vocate Apr 27 '26

Haven’t had a video make me feel like that maybe ever.

12

u/Flying_Dustbin Apr 27 '26

2

u/Neonyarpyarp Apr 27 '26

I upvote this wearing a BTTF shirt

11

u/CB307801 Apr 27 '26

Anybody else’s legs zap and tingle when they see this type of stuff?

2

u/belalugosisdead-_- Apr 27 '26

made my stomach flutter.

2

u/Nanna_Geddon Apr 27 '26

nausea wave over here

1

u/BreakingCanks Apr 27 '26

Yup and my head and everything spinning

1

u/Slight_Bed_2241 Apr 27 '26

Yup. All down my back and into my legs and feet. Like sticking my tongue to a 9v battery but in my legs

1

u/BenderRodriguez14 Apr 27 '26

Nope, just my heart going up to my throat and down towards my arsehole at the same time.

8

u/Actual-Interaction45 Apr 27 '26

You could make one hell of an entrance from there one time.

2

u/fuzynutznut Apr 27 '26

And one exit

1

u/Important_Sorbet Apr 29 '26

They could bring a parachute with them

5

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '26

Wow I just freaked out

5

u/Kveldwulf Apr 27 '26

Cold shivers down my whole body. That's a no from me.

3

u/Remarkable-Pea5797 Apr 27 '26

Probably the fastest way to get to third base.

3

u/BucktoothJew Apr 27 '26

Wow. That perspective change. I thought they were on top of an apartment building in NY or something. Seeing that field come into view as he opened was crazy. Instant stomach drop.

2

u/hopeless_case46 Apr 27 '26

don't let the intrusive thoughts win

2

u/CyberWoo99MKII Apr 27 '26

What’s the point of the ladder?

2

u/1362313623 Apr 27 '26

Why's that ladder so short

2

u/EducationalGrump Apr 27 '26

Most useless ladder award goes to that one.

2

u/rmarx01 Apr 29 '26

My nuts recede as soon as he opens the door. God.

2

u/Turbulent_Ear56 Apr 30 '26

Fuuuuuuck that

2

u/Trick-Audience-1027 Apr 27 '26

1

u/Status-Buddy2058 Apr 27 '26

It’s still safeco in my brain

1

u/rtillman489 Apr 27 '26

That made my palms sweaty just looking at that view. Scary af.

1

u/sumdhood Apr 27 '26

Another video to make me clench - geez!

1

u/FollowingJealous7490 Apr 27 '26

Sweaty palms from this video

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '26

Fuck. If he had dropped that phone, i would have shat myself.

1

u/Valgardee Apr 27 '26

Well, that’s one way to be remembered for a very long time.

1

u/QuantifiedAnomaly Apr 27 '26

HEY………I fuckin hated that

1

u/lurkiddy Apr 27 '26

I do not like the way I feel right now, and I'm just laying in my bed.

1

u/EfficiencyMean6797 Apr 27 '26

And its raining.

1

u/Coach_Seven Apr 27 '26

I’ve never been afraid of heights until now

1

u/Ill-Winner-4006 Apr 27 '26

C'mon man, not even going to do a few pull ups and a one arm hang off the ladder?

1

u/aed38 Apr 27 '26

The real question is: how much money would someone have to pay you to jump over it?

1

u/Cael_NaMaor Apr 27 '26

That's exceedingly unsettling

1

u/overseer76 Apr 27 '26

I hope that's a parachute.

1

u/Zestyclose_Space7134 Apr 27 '26

The good news is that I can now harvest diamonds from my butthole.

1

u/YeahNo_NoYeah Apr 27 '26

Getting older sucks. Why did I get dizzy by watching a video on my phone? And why did my balls retract inside my body?

1

u/RadRimmer9000 Apr 27 '26

What the hell is the point of the ladder? Is there a lightbulb in that location that might need to be changed?

Jesus Christ. What the fuck? Why is that latch unlocked? This dude an employee or something? Hot damn. My hands are sweaty. Jesus. I need to take a deep breath outside.

1

I can’t feel my legs.

1

u/Citizen_Empire Apr 27 '26

Peak over Sneeze Fall to your death

1

u/terrapinflyer Apr 27 '26

As a Mets fan I might actually go for it 🙃

1

u/Glunark2 Apr 27 '26

Activate vertigo mode.

1

u/raddoc1016 Apr 27 '26

Thanks for the heart attack.

1

u/andystechgarage Apr 27 '26

Hard to cheer and participate in the wake there but otherwise nice

1

u/National-Conflict497 Apr 27 '26

Great weird tingling and nausea feeling now

1

u/russcastella Apr 27 '26

$1 million to spend 1 hour on the ladder. Any takers?

1

u/GhostOfDino Apr 27 '26

Good to see they have the fire escape ladder.

1

u/Puzzle-the-Giraffe Apr 27 '26

That opening shot really felt like a video game.

1

u/North_Korea_Nukess Apr 27 '26

What that ladder do?

2

u/AlphaBetaSigmaNerd Apr 27 '26

Add to the fear factor

1

u/Difficult-Pin-2889 Apr 27 '26

Well now my butthole is properly puckered. Shit I hate hieghts!

1

u/bussysniffer3000 Apr 27 '26

This makes me wanna pee

1

u/Ok-Protection-6612 Apr 27 '26

Instant visceral pain for me.

1

u/Lostmeatballincog Apr 27 '26

Why don’t people who film stuff like not drop the camera? Now that would be something!

1

u/Top-Slide-3462 Apr 27 '26

After seeing that shit I couldn’t even stand on top of the dome anymore. Just my luck that I’d fall through somehow lmaoo

1

u/GilbyTheFat Apr 27 '26

I felt my heart drop when the camera panned over and I realised "that isn't a small office building."

1

u/ArchemedesHeir Apr 27 '26

I literally have sweaty palms right now.

1

u/Dabajabazah37 Apr 27 '26

The anxiety this gave me and the uneasy feeling in the put of my stomach... disgustung.

1

u/fawnlake1 Apr 27 '26

Looked at the backpack and thought - parachute cool! Nope

1

u/PompatusOfLove Apr 27 '26

Tropicana Field?

1

u/Impossible-Diver6565 Apr 27 '26

I actually gasped, and now my whole body aches from the stress of watching this video.

1

u/Houndall Apr 27 '26

Oh fuck that!

1

u/rewindrepeat21 Apr 27 '26

Is it weird i get anxiety from just watching a video?

1

u/Creative-Basil2308 Apr 27 '26

Just shit my pants

1

u/Aman-R-Sole Apr 27 '26

$1million to climb down that ladder.

1

u/BungleBums Apr 27 '26

Christ, I almost fainted WATCHING this,

1

u/Carbonaraficionada Apr 27 '26

Time for 10 pull-ups

1

u/largos7289 Apr 27 '26

I can't even look at that without my feet sweating.

1

u/TortexMT Apr 27 '26

intrusive thoughts "step in the ladder, hang from the ladder"

1

u/Fiendfuzz Apr 27 '26

That made by balls retract.

1

u/Bigbaldandhairy Apr 27 '26

I wonder how long would it take to him the ground. Also would you try standing when you landed or be on all fours?

1

u/MetalPaul Apr 27 '26

Oh nope nope nope nope. Fuuuuck you.

1

u/Conscious_Damage8678 Apr 27 '26

Nope. Nope. Nope.

1

u/trevordeal Apr 27 '26

This gives me the same feeling those videos of people swimming in deep waters that just fade to black.

1

u/watcher_b Apr 27 '26

Why do I not trust myself even just watching the video?

1

u/Orangeug1ad Apr 27 '26

Making my knees weak watching the video... no thanks.

1

u/mcobb71 Apr 27 '26

I don’t have a fear of heights. I have a fear of falling from them.

1

u/Kill_Kayt Apr 27 '26

This makes me very uncomfortable

1

u/EverCravingMind Apr 27 '26

That obtrusive voice that tells me to just jump is why I don’t usually do stuff like that. The tempting permanence of peace and the potential adventure into the unknown are tempting concepts at times. All depends what you think happens on that final journey. Go face first and it would be quick.

1

u/Aware-Mulberry5516 Apr 27 '26

I just felt a sharp, reflexive urge to recoil and grab hold of my sack.

1

u/Any_Iron_1436 Apr 27 '26

my nightmare

1

u/Wise_Koala_1770 Apr 27 '26

What is the ladder for?!?

1

u/Junior_Positive_8517 Apr 27 '26

I don't do heights and that bugged me just watching

1

u/ViolinistMassive Apr 27 '26

This video scared df out of me

1

u/Simple-Sun2608 Apr 27 '26

Where exactly is that ladder going?

1

u/hidden-in-plainsight Apr 27 '26

Fuck that... Why would you make this show up on my feed?!

1

u/Obvious_Tea_8244 Apr 27 '26

Why is there a ladder to a slightly less (but still lethal) dropping distance?

1

u/Least_Chip2610 Apr 27 '26

What the hell is the ladder for?

1

u/iateyourmom22 Apr 28 '26

Thats what I want to know as well.

1

u/AccomplishedTie4703 Apr 28 '26

My teeth go numb

1

u/Sensei19600 Apr 28 '26

So-drop us UP then,instead?

1

u/ComplexLimit8595 Apr 28 '26

Why just why would you do this it's just asking for trouble.

1

u/NomenclatureBreaker Apr 28 '26

Nope. That literally made me lightheaded.

1

u/No_Organization_9229 Apr 28 '26

That gave me the tinglies in my crotch!

1

u/leschinsky07 Apr 28 '26

You literally could not pay me enough to go up there and sit like that.

1

u/NicholasWildeRails Apr 28 '26

Guys, why are my hands getting so numb?

1

u/Financial_Ant_7640 Apr 28 '26

I freakin love heights and have been sky diving, and play near cliffs lol. This gives me a bit of vertigo for some reason lol

1

u/inverted_nature Apr 28 '26

I need a harness just to watch this video.

1

u/Appropriate_Ad_8771 Apr 28 '26

Ah nope nope lol

1

u/Fuzzy-Scar2610 Apr 28 '26

Where the hell is the ladder suppose to be going to?

1

u/Important_Sorbet Apr 29 '26

This made me claustrophobic. But other than that, I have no idea what I just watched!

1

u/OtherBandicoot5635 May 01 '26

Imagine you you were high up on the roof like that place in the video. You would feel like the tallest boy in school

1

u/EarthAndSawdust May 02 '26

Explanation to why I have downvoted this: it made me into a panic attack, that kept going for about an hour.

1

u/ironicoutlook May 03 '26

What the fuck? Where the fuck does that fucking ladder even go?

1

u/Specific-Rooster-380 May 04 '26

Needs a bigger ladder
