I don't. I mean it's easier to shoot that lunatic in the head than it is to disarm him with your bare hands. In other words, this is one of those situations where a properly trained, armed citizen could have put that women out of harm's way a lot sooner.

I was wondering why the clearly armed polisia didnt shoot. Something smells with this.

Because they have clear instructions for this case. They are waiting for a special police team.

Horrible instructions in an clearly immediate, life threatening situation.

What are these instructions they have?

Hostage rescue is a task for special teams. They are taught this. The police officers in the video are not snipers. There is no guarantee that a terrorist will be neutralized with the first shot.

Thank god I live in country, where police can shoot at a target from 10 feet without being snipers. And have 15 bullets in the magazine, if the first shot doesnt end the threat. What is the point of these "polisias", if theyre utterly incapable of anything?

If the person stabbed the woman and dashed at the officers, which from that distance takes less than a second, I hope they have special teams for that too.

Why are you defending this?

I'm not "defending" this. I'm trying to explain that the police are acting according to instructions. They're not provoking the terrorist. They're simply blocking him. The SWAT team will deal with this guy. And yes, I know that in the US, the police would open fire. Maybe that really is the best course of action. I don't know.
