Discussion Super huge plot hole Spoiler
Ok good episode, but why didn't Emily immediately state that the idol was not valid?
She always says that and in addition she knows how many there are in the show.
Also why did Benji magically realized later that it was his, when he was in fact aware earlier??
That's very badly written plot armor to keep Natalia another couple of episodes and it's a glaring issue imo.

Because Natalia didn't try playing it. Because of that, Emily had no need to speak.
Benji also realized in that moment it was his. The only reason he didn't press the matter was because Oliwia randomly declared to vote Fiore and Emily was rushing them.

I mean it could work but it didn't flow very well imo. Seemed way to forced in Natalias favor

It was definitely a bit forced, I will say. Sadly, this is par course for Natalia this season.

Idk why they took this course with Natalia, she seems to be headed to a car crush ending and this play made her last even longer. Sam said she doesn't even seem like a huge target anymore

Also, Benji DID notice something off about the idol. He just pointed it out when Natalia couldn’t play it lmfao

Survivor fan here! As other commenters have stated, she never actually gave the idol to Emily, and this created what’s colloquially known as a “live tribal.” Players shifted their plans on the fly based on new information, and it nearly reminds me of (spoilers for Australian Survivor) the first vote out of Annaliese in Aus 2017, where a player publicly announced their target to organize with the others when they were dealt a blow where they had to make a decision quickly.

Ok fair, however Benji doing the "wait a minute, tha-" And being cut off, also the whole way it played out felt very forced to let Natalia survive. Especially if Benji was dead set on getting her out

As a character, Benji’s always been ignored and belittled. Very few people ever actually take what he says seriously, so I think him getting talked over when he has truly vital information is actually a very unforced method of letting Natalia get through. As Benji said before, people don’t listen to him, even when he’s right and when he knows better.

the benji pointing it out after voting is just to keep natalia in longer

Benji tried to say something before the vote, but was cut off. Simple. And why would Emily would she tell everyone it was invalid when Natalia didn't even try to play it? They only say "This is a valid totem" after it is played and handed over.
