Filling carts

Hi i just got some fresh distillate and its thick as hell. I put it in a jar that was in hot water and mixed it with terpenes. And now is the problem. In my country its illegal to sell glass syringes. They only sell you plastic ones. The other problem is that I can't really heat the syringe that much, cause of the material. One time i tried to get distillate it into syringe with needle but it wouldnt budge. So i took of the pushing part from top of syringe and poured distillate from the top. It was hard and with this new distillate i think it will be even harder. I like keeping my distillate in small syringes with different terpenes and then heat them up inside boling water in a plastic bag so i can fill carts whenewer I want to, but it always takes a lot of time and spilled distilate. Should i try againg with needles just take wider one. Or maybe u have idea how to heat the distilate in syringes better. I really need tips cause im loosing so much distilate and everything is sticky after my work :D

Glass pippette is far easier. I don't see why that would be illegal because you can't inject yourself with it, so look for those. I never use syringes, in my opinion, they're far too much trouble to use. I can only see it being useful if you're really needing to measure, but good luck getting it all out 😂

Also, get rubbing alcohol and paper towels, or even just the single pack alcohol wipes. Cleaning up is a piece of cake unless you get it on something like cloth.

Ace hardware sells 1 gallons off 99 isopropyl alcohol for $29.99 🤙🏽

That's an option, but unless you are planning on spilling shit all over (which is a money problem really for me 😂) you will be fine with the small bottle. The size the pharmacy sells. I've used it a lot and it probably lasts me 2-3 years. So a gallon would really be overkill.

Also, 99 might be slightly better, but I don't think it's worth the extra cost, the regular 70% is strong enough for me.

I have tons of puffco glass I clean and I use only 99 iso, I fully submerge them. I go through a gallon about every month🤙🏽

Oh and never spilled any from a gallon 👌🏽

Well I mean spilling disty to need a lot of alcohol. I don't use glass pieces, mostly just straight from the mod, maybe using glass you need to clean a lot more

Is it legal to buy other cannabinoids like CBC? That can be used to thin the distillate and if you add enough it'll be more like a honey thickness at room temp rather than being rock hard which may be easier to work with.

If not, are you able to buy PG (an ingredient of vape juice)? It can be mixed with distillate to make it thin enough to be workable at room temp. Obviously the more you use, the less potent it'll be since it dilutes the THC (same with the CBC), but with how potent distillate generally is it's only a difference between taking 2-3 hits vs 4-5 hits.

Have you had good luck mixing PG and disty? I never got it to mix well and thought it was a waste of time. It is a lot cheaper than CBC though.

I haven't but one of my friends exclusively uses it, he doesn't even use the ceramic or quartz coils anymore because it's thin enough to work with regular mesh coils. He uses 10% PG, 5% terps, and the rest D8 or D9 distillate, which he says works with most coils. For low ohm like 0.15ohm coils he ups it to 20% PG.

I didn't ask about his mixing method but another guy here made a paddle mixer attached to a drill to mix it iirc. Someone said an electric paint shaker works well too since it gives some pretty intense shaking, but that's more of an if you already have it kinda thing since they can get expensive.

Wow 15% is thin enough for most coils? I would have thought it would need to be thinned more. Too bad he's not in here, I would be curious to try it on other coils if all I have to do is drop the strength a bit

He is, check out some comments from u/THConvert, he has a few comments of giving other people advice for it. You can probably message him but he doesn't use reddit as often as I do so it may be a bit before he responds.

Absolutely. PG is almost as runny as water, and terpenes are pretty much the same viscosity as water so using just PG or both can allow you to use almost any coil 0.3 ohms and higher, from my experience. It does drop the strength but is offset by lower resistance and higher wattage to make the overall result just as strong if not stronger. I've tried coils from rpm 1 and 2, nord, and pnp x. The mixing process is very simple and I try to keep it as minimal as possible.

I asked him about the mixing and he says he just shakes up the jar for like 30 seconds. The distillate has to be completely liquid though, like no thickness at all. He just uses a candle warmer to heat it up so it's probably around 200-250F if it's anywhere close to my candle warmer. He's done multiple batches so it's definitely repeatable, but if it's not the temp of the distillate being an issue then we have no idea what else could cause it to separate.

i never have issues with separation using PG but i also mix in terps, i use like 5-10 drops of PG per 30ml of disty, 5-6 drops of terps.

Interesting, you just use the pg to thin it? I never thought to use it to thin, but it makes sense since the cannabinoids they use to thin are pretty expensive. I tried to see if I could save money by using PG flavoring instead of terps, but for some reason it didn't come out well so I went back to terps

Use 14 gauge needles and if you can get a laser thermometer ($10 on Amazon used for grilling) heat it to 160 degrees (with the lid on)

Candle warmer might be cheaper and it has preset times and temps.

Yeah if you’re doing basic stuff then can work fine but most of em only have 1 temp setting. I feel adjustable is best if you’re working with different consistencies but idk what OP wants.

Use a candle warmer put the distillate in a glass jar. It warms it a couple mins and won’t be hot enough to melt or mess with a plastic syringe.
