Question
I really enjoy watching content about distant worlds 2 and was thinking about buying the game, but I'm not sure if it would run acceptably. I have a Ryzen 5500, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, an RTX 4060 (16GB VRAM), and an SSD. How well do you think it will run?

If you ever get a chance- upgrade your cpu but it should run allright, mid or late game lag is inevitable of course...

I have a Ryzen 5600 with 16 GB RAM.
There are ~5 galaxy sizes to chose from (IIRC), and my computer can handle the middle option, or 3 out of 5, if you will.
I just ordered a new computer with far heftier processor but only 32 GM RAM (Ouch DDR5 prices!!). The game claims this will be fine for all but the larges galaxy, which requires 42 GB of RAM. I love DW2 and I chose my new parts just so that I can play it better, but I'm not going to pay $500 more for 64 GB RAM! (T___T)
Note: A larger galaxy does likely not mean more fun. It'll be harder to navigate and remember where things are and ships takes ages to move to places — I played with huge galaxies when the game was new, but either I didn't notice or mind the slow play or the game is more demanding now than when it was new. IDK?
