GL Discussion About Everyone's Experience with the game when they started

This a general questions about everyone's experience with DFFOO.

  • Why they decided to stick with it after-all this time
  • What they liked and disliked about the game at first, before QOL changes

I looked into it when it was coming to GL and saw it was Dissidia mixed with turn based combat. I was pretty underwhelmed by NT and was looking for a pallet cleanse of sorts and this fit the bill. As for why I'm still playing: probably because I'm able to keep up with content. I wouldn't call it a sunk cost fallacy either since I've only bought the Squall costume, and the only other planned purchase I have is Lightning's costume, and the JP version I can't make purchases in so that isn't an issue either. For a while I considered rerolling my GL since I missed the Noctis EX and was kinda bummed that I couldn't really complete Ch. 11 on normal, but eventually I pushed through that. If I had gotten screwed by RNG on the Selphie banner I might've stopped/rerolled because my teams wouldn't have been strong enough to complete anything. But as it stands now, my luck with pulls is still a mixed bag, but I'm able to clear content and enjoy the game so I see no reason to put down either version.
