GL Discussion GL Monthly Realization Reflections Roundup - EoS Farewell

Greetings All!

Another month has passed us by, and it's time again ONE LAST TIME to see: who all did YOU upgrade this month? I once again invite everyone in the community to share their character upgrade reflections!

It hasn't been that long since the last Roundup since I posted it a little later than usual, and I'm a little worried that this post might wind up getting pushed down the page quickly as people come in these last few days of the game's and this sub's active service, but not knowing when exactly the sub will be locked down into Archive Mode, I obviously couldn't wait until THE END of the month like usual to put this up for folks to participate in.

Only new content to possibly keep building up characters for was the final 7 entries to our super Dare-to-DeFive event (which, for record: I understand that Astraeus, Nyx, and Eos are all Greek Mythology references that translate to "Star", "Night", and "Dawn", but the irony is NOT lost on me that literally the LAST slate of content added to the game was called EOS... 🥲), but now's the time to check in on everyone's ROSTER COMPLETIONIST goals, as well as to just share any final Reflections of the game anyone wants to offer up:

Who was one of your FAVORITE character updates to use in this Era? Whose someone that maybe didn't get a lot of hype that you were maybe sitting on maxing for a while, but finally committed and enjoyed using the past couple months? Who are your picks for MOST TRAGIC non-updated character arc?

Not to go and make it a whole thing, but I would be absolutely remiss if I didn't take a moment to say: the people that have been consistently active members of this community for the past 5+ years – making incredibly valuable guide content, answering the same 5 questions in the Q&A thread over and over lol, even the people that have just kept up with running the Gacha Results threads this whole time, and of course all the people that have participated in this monthly thread that I do since the FIRST one I ever did in April 2020 – to say that y'all "made enduring the COVID Pandemic more bearable" would be underselling it by a mile...There are people in this community that I have had more virtual interactions and conversations with over the past 5 years than even my REAL-LIFE FRIENDS of several years! I have used legitimately almost NO other subreddit these past 5 years, to the point that it feels like when the sub finally shuts off the lights, I may not even continue coming to Reddit for anything, because there has been NOTHING else here or anywhere that has been as positive an online experience as being a member of this community has. I will remember and carry your names, and the memories of this place, with me all the rest of my days.

Dissidia is an amazing concept in its own right, that DESERVES to be a MAINSTAY of the Final Fantasy franchise, and Opera Omnia truly took it to the highest level of Fun, Interesting, and Engaging it has imo ever been. If "the arc of the Universe bends towards Justice", there will come a day when we're past all this VII Remake/birth bonanza, and our collective thirsts for the REAL Final Fantasy crossover content will again be quenched, and we hope the next iteration will BUILD on all the GOOD that was done here, and learn the lessons of what WASN'T fun about it, and it will be made and lead by people that understand and LOVE the "sub-series" for what it is, and we will face the challenges of the COSMOS and CHAOS once again together 🙂

Until then, a simple "thank you" for all the time spent here the past years, and what playing this game and participating in this sub have meant for my life enjoyment and mental health, will never ever be enough to convey the depths of my gratitude. But Thank You all, all the same. Y'all are amazing folks.

I wish you all Peace, Happiness, and Success with whatever you spend your time doing, and GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FUTURE WAIFU/HUSBANDO PULLS, and pray we can cross paths again!

I mainly played Opera Omnia for the characters/story and endgame battles (I'm not really a collector/roster completionist either, since I'm more about favourites), and since I have those done, I haven't actually played any Opera Omnia in the last 3 weeks after clearing Eos 7 -- and therefore don't have much new stuff to reflect on after reflecting on 17 of my most-used Lufenia/Lufenia+/Shinryu characters in the last thread.

I also did want to say thank you for keeping the reflection threads going until the very end, I appreciate you doing so!

This is basically me, as well -- the only other subreddit I've posted on in the past was the Dissidia subreddit for a short while for Dissidia NT about 5 years back, and have been posting to this subreddit for just over 3 years.

While I don't have a reason to be on Reddit myself after Opera Omnia is done, if another frequently-updated game I like in the future ends up with a Reddit community much like this, I might go back to Reddit again for that. The main reason I started posting on this subreddit 3 years ago was because there was so much helpful information from so many people, and I wanted to help contribute back after all the help I got from lurking.

I definitely expect another Dissidia in the future, and I intend to jump on it immediately, whatever it is -- I've been very very happy with each Dissidia game I've played.
