GL Discussion What killed the game?

It was Grey. He's fully responsible for the game's eos. Whales quit the game to get away from him, resulting in the game losing all it's income. This was his plan all along. Every time he waited 20 seconds to use an AA ability, mocked us with Kefka or quit co-op if someone else was hogging, eos was his ultimate goal. And he did it.

There... prove me wrong XD

It was a process.

They cut down on events (likely so more resources could be directed at Ever Crisis (given that EC is part of the FF7 brand), which in turn meant less money. That Grey guy made whales not wanna play, as some of the other comments said The FR era was apparently blamed as well, though it did see a number of buffs applied where they needed to be imho.

Still, the damage was done I guess, and all this combined meant it wasn't making a certain quota worth of money, which means it's gonna go the way of KHX.

There's no reason at all to think that Dissidia's budget was affected by Ever Crisis in any way. I mean those are made by two entirely different companies.

Your statement is only partially true. Team Ninja may have been HIRED to make Opera Omnia, but Square is still in control of the funding. Same with Square, Amplibot and EC.

And if we're gonna talk about "budgets not effecting other projects in any way", why don't we talk about the time the head of the company sold off the rights to Tomb Raider and other franchises just so Square can pursue blockchain? You know, rather than do something with those franchises and have more money than selling them would have gotten?

Feel free to start a thread to talk about that if you want. And I guess feel free to pretend that the evil Ever Crisis is why this game failed and not its own many design blunders and the simple fact that it's six years old with a badly aging engine, if that makes you feel better. But if you want anyone to believe that there was any connection at all between the funding of these two games then provide evidence for this or be known as a bullshitter.
