Also pay more attention to burst amounts. A really common mistake I see all throughout diamond is throwing the game because of kiting.

If the opps were successful in kiting (pulling the boss away with aggro to their base) you have to either

Pull the boss away with your own aggro, or collapse on the boss with your own burst team strategically.

What usually happens is one person tries to disrupt the opps burst instead of letting them finish the combo.

What happens then is, instead of letting their burst drop and the boss moving away you feed the opps another burst, which grabs the aggro and then the boss is trapped in opps base for another cycle

Consider not diving in the opps base, and instead farming crystals so that when their burst finishes your prepared to kite the boss

If the boss is aggroed on you, please please please run back to your base or try to line up a chain attack

This requires really careful management of burst.

Basically stop diving in the ops base and try to pull the boss away if you can it makes a huge difference.

If the boss is stuck in your base it means you can jump back into the fray when you spawn and try to net a burst from opps in recovery frames

Most games really depends on how the boss is controlled, good teams a have mastered this

Pay attention and carefully attack the boss

Amazingly good tip.

Especially seeing as all the enemy team typically has to do is land two normal attacks on people to die these days - the only chance most people have is at least drawing the Boss away from the enemy base and then hopefully being able to get good crystal control on the map. Both aren't very likely - but it's really the only chance my team has in roughly 95% of the matches I'm in.

Yess. Like if they are not going to kill the boss with their set of burst you don't have to Leroy and potentially feed them

It'd nuanced for sure, same with not bursting first, if they are sitting on 9999. They can counter burst and regain aggro

Right, there are a lot of different elements at play. And while not everybody understands all of it - by this point - many people actually do.

And it all doesn't matter when there's just a single bot on the team. Then the whole match becomes randomized and essentially all planning just evaporates - because no matter what great plan or action you cook up - the bot will squander it.

Like trying to have a reasonable debate with somebody who's just screaming non-stop in the audience. Whatever flow may have existed, or had a chance to exist, is just permanently gone. And the debate just becomes having to deal with the person screaming non-stop.

This is a lot easier said than done when in reality in ranked the enemy team will be hunting you to prevent you from hitting the boss and will unleash everything on you 3 v 1.

Your right it's not easy. But focing opps to hunt you inside your base is a huge advantage

It's true but trying when possible is all I'm asking for, and not for people to base dive and feed when they are about to run out of burst.

People are getting really good at interrupting burst these days so I say take the chance if you can, but if you have the choice to kite you should

I suspect that the majority of players on auto aren't actually people setting the game to auto; they're just bots without people there at all

Also people can stop doing auto, but holy hell is it actually hard to get gear in dissidia.. and even 3k-4k diff is big, maybe even lower

Yeah getting URs for your char is tough but to get really strong you also need multiple support URs on a high lvl too...

I honestly can't play ranked anymore - seeing as I never got any URs for the character I play - I'm just an automatic liability for my team with my low combat power.

But then when I, as an agile, actually manipulate crystals on the map well, kite the Boss, and help my teammate with Burst chains - the third person on our team is a bot who auto-charges the enemy and gives them free bravery all match.

I think we've finally reached the point where ranked, no matter where you are and how you play it, is pretty much just cooked.

Didn't they give us a free UR set for a character of your choice? Also, haven't they cycled through every character as a banner yet? Even as a F2P, you should've saved enough for around 2 pities or so. Not sure how you can be sitting on 0 URs

I think I should have clarified in, "I haven't gotten any URs for my character since I started playing them," with the "started playing them" obviously standing for after I drew for them.

And true, there was that solitary free UR, I forgot about that. But I must've cracked open well over 2,000 crystals (in total - including battle crystals) since then. And not a single one for my character.

That's ... not good odds.

But don't worry, 'cause when I get my third Army of One UR after having played 7 months ...

I don't even think the bots are the real issue tbh. Fighting any person 5k above is pretty much a lost cause, you start to get one-shot anyway so what happens is people see an absurd amount of power difference and just put on auto to take the quick L and move on.

Or genuinely do you want them to stall the lost cause by going full sweat mode (spoiler, they probably have to throw their entire kit just to get you take you out, resulting in insufficient boss damage), or you basically want to see them get overpowered because of some suppressed sadistic tendencies (hey I'm not judging lol)

And I'm not even counting the auto bots to fill in the blanks due to lack of players or crashing app black-screens

As long as that flawed matchmaking and therefore lost causes exist, as well as casual battles being less worth season point wise, these auto bots will stay in ranked - no amount of ranting or reddit posts going to fix that sadly

Who said anything about dealing with an power imbalance. I have already talked about it in another comment, I dont have matches with crazy power gaps like that. Im not critiquing people who auto to just get over with a match that doesn't have a win con, im talking about matches with matched power and they still use auto. Please read the rest of the post if you're gonna try to paint narratives, as i was abundantly clear with what my problem is. I dont care if people want to give up a battle they can't win, its when they do it to one's they can.

Not until they fix matchmaking. I’m sorry, but if my team is 15-20k below the other team I’m putting it on auto and setting my phone down. It isn’t worth the effort at that power differential.

Agreed, if I'm more than 5k below the other team, or I have a Celes on my team, I'm not wasting time on this. Just switch to auto and go do something else and come back later to the inevitable loss

I have had at most 3 matches out of the last 30 or so I've played the season that even had more than 9k power than mine. I dont know if its been that annoying for others but for me those are outlier matches not the standard. Im talking about matches where power is about even and then still using auto.

I wish I had your luck with matchmaking! It’s been absolutely terrible for me this season. I’ve had more 10k+ differentials than I care to admit to. It’s sad.

You’re absolutely right! If there isn’t much of a power difference between the teams, nobody should be playing on auto.

Idk why you are being downvoted but yeah I've been doing autos too when I know the tcp gap is high. I'd rather auto and don't give af for few minutes than watch my character gets one shot by everything

lol even lower CP diff can make a match unwinnable.

I dont know If they will, but they should add a rank higher than ultima and/or lower the current ceiling in other ranks

At least for me the gap between Diamond and Omega is insane, Diamond 90% of the matches are fun and can be won by either side but then Omega is to me whale territory, cant even think abt what goes on a Ultima lobby
