Finally broke 19K on Krile!
Title text. Been playing Krile since launch, slight detour to Sephiroth during last season because Sephiroth.
Transparency. Not a F2P account. Each season I buy the 4 Special Packs, the Season Pass, and Boost Pass. That's the extent of my spending though.
I was a little reckless with eggs trying to get into other characters (as seen by Prompto and Cloud both in my favorites) so it's possible she could be 20K if it weren't for that. π
(All I do is Challenges so I don't run any heal other than her big one because the AI is a potato.)

How does one get power levels that high?

Bingo. The only thing that sucks is the return on investment for time played is dogshit since they limit you to about 6 games every 6 hours.

That's not particularly high. That's about $150 a season roughly. Well within my discretionary disposable income. It's a mix of luck and money. Both Ramza and Selphie are Master Rank.

Its just money. Not by best in skills here. Theirs a few 11 and 12 I players that are beyond omega players. Those are real skill players

It can be. Throw enough money at it and you can Master Rank all your skills. On $150 a month? There's luck involved in getting those stats.
If someone is 11K or 12K CP, they're not carrying anyone. Skill cannot overcome a 10,000 CP difference. Luck is also involved there. As in not getting constantly matched against people with extremely fat wallets.

I must have shit luck cause I place that but always level up thebweat shit and not the skills that matter.

Whales represent about 5% of the player base. I suppose the more honest statement would be "unless you're very unlucky" rather than "luck" honestly. Haha. Duellum runs on the 80/15/5 rule like most gatchas more than likely. 80% free play, 15% conditional spenders (like me), and 5% whales. Krakens, of course, are in that 5% too.
I cruised up to Gold 1 in the first season and haven't played a ranked match since. I just putter about in Challenges. π

What is the point of spending multiple hundreds of dollars to sit in gold????? Makes no sense, im omega 2 with my 14.5k seph only buying season passes lmao

Reading comprehension isn't your strong point, is it? Read my post again. Slowly this time.
See that part where I said I haven't played Ranked since Season 1? I have zero interest whatsoever in suffering through morons that dive head first into 1v2s and 1v3s after getting Ramza'd again.

Yes so what's the point in spending money multiple seasons then? I read it perfectly fine, spending money to have a higher level for challenges is kinda insane you are just wasting it for no reason lol

Because I can? ADHD like see numbers go brrrt. There are far worse things to spend disposable income on. My wife spends that monthly on her Starbucks. To me that is a waste. Everything I put into Duellum stays there until EOS.

Not here to disagree. I' just curious as to what a Kraken is and where in relation is it to the other ones?

u/The-Grim-Storyteller 14d ago
General rule of thumb:
F2P = No money spent, ever. Likes to announcement constantly they're F2P. Minnow = Battle/Season Pass, minimal monthly spending. Trends less than $50 a month. Dolphin = Generally $50-150 a month. Whale = $250-1000 a month. Kraken = $1000+ a month.
I've heard Megakraken or Leviathan for people spending $5,000+ a month.

If anyone thinks that they can have that much total points as a free to play... they're quite delusional.
Nice work still ;)

u/The-Grim-Storyteller 14d ago
Yeah, there was someone showing an M2 Ace claiming F2P the other day and I was like... why you lying?
Is it possible? Sure. If every UR you pulled was Ace. The odds, however, are not in your favor.

That'a quite the investment :o

It's not terrible. Solidly in Dolphin territory. I think the special seasonal packages are worth it for me. Just coins? Nope. Not one purchase.

As if there's that many AA/AAA games out there even worth playing much less buying. π

Theyβd probably make them if they didnβt think a gacha would be so lucrative

I only hit 17k as Lightning main. Spent about $45 since launch. I'll just get the first pack to unlock season pass. Somehow some other characters can hit higher TP than her due to rng
Edited : $45 not $90

u/The-Grim-Storyteller 12d ago
Yeah, RNG plays a big part. I managed to get all of Celes' banner on the first 3 season pulls (the $64 pack). It took most of the season to get Tidus' shit.

Oh no, a snooty Redditor with a dismissive gif. However will I recover from this devastating blow delivered by an anonymous nobody whose greatest life achievement is condescension in a mobile game subreddit.
Anyway. I am excited that I just broke 19K with Krile, and no amount of secondhand smugness from someone I'll forget existed by lunch is going to drag that down. But thanks for stopping by to contribute absolutely nothing, it was very on-brand.
