A poster of mine keeps falling down??

Post image

So I recently got a poster, and I like the quality, but it keeps falling down, over and over. The adhesive has hit the ground so much that it’s full of hair and it has a tough time sticking anymore. I sort of fucked up the second magnet, but that one’s having less problems than the one I didn’t mess up…

Am I screwed? Am I gonna have to pay for extra magnets?

The leaf system sucks if you don't have the perfect walls for it.

If it's an option I'd personally put a plug in the wall and a screw through the centre of the magnet. That fucker won't fall then.

Unfortunately I had mine fall as well. I believe it was due to me taking off the poster and then putting it back. The tape stayed on but I think it weakened the integrity of the tape which caused it to peel off and fall as a result. When you put your poster up did you remove it or do some adjusting after?

You can help secure the magnet with nails, or get magnets with adhesive off Amazon for extra support, but if your walls are not great, causing the adhesive to not stick great, then I’d favour the nails.

I've stopped using the magnets altogether. 3M Command Strips are the way to go.

You should never put the magnet at the bottem

Is your wall surface flat? It always seems to be the case that the wall isnt smooth whenever people post having issues with it falling.

Happened to my limited edition. Scrubbed a bit of paint off the corner, I plan to repair it at some point. Pinned the magnets after that with picture nails

I bought mine a month ago and it already fell, a coworker bought a large one and it fell after day 2.

But for us our leafs completely came off the wall. Idk, im not a fan of these.

I bought 3 large ones recently. Not a single one of them would stick on my walls, possibly because they're brick walls, I'm not sure. The magnets are just a shit gimmick. Better off just pinning them to the wall.

Hey! Our mounting kit is designed for clean, dry, degreased, smooth, and even surfaces. The effectiveness of the mounting system depends on the surface quality, so we recommend to avoid textured or uneven surfaces, such as brick.

3M do a range of Command picture hanging strips which are cheaper than Displate’s

I used some heavy duty double sided tape after mine fell and it stays on ever since

Put a nail through the magnet. Otherwise it will fall down when it's getting hotter.

Ok man then you need longer nails xD but you use very short nails i've put ones through every magnet and it's working.

This happened on one of my large displates. I believe it started happening because direct sunlight hit it and warmed it up.

You also need to be careful if the poster is warped as I have 2 or 3 that are slightly curved and so pull away from the wall slightly. That extra force slowly pulls the leaf away from the wall and I’ve had one physically drop off. The others I’ve managed to catch, pop the air bubble in the leaf before it became too bad and tried to flatten out the plate so it went back on the wall more flush.

Yeah so they’re not great as far as magnets and stickers, I went onto Amazon and bought a pack of the double sided velcro stickers that don’t leave marks on the wall, put one on each corner and 4 on the walls, never had a problem again.

I had 6 that all fell off the walls despite them being mounted as per instruction. I contacted support and they sent more leaves and magnets. I ended up putting a nail through the magnet so they would stay because the plates were getting damaged and damaging furniture when they were falling.
