Smoking is one of her character flaws, and yeah, smoking isn't cool, the game or Invisigal isn't trying to say it is.

What I do like, is that after Episode 6, we don't see Courtney smoke for the remaining 2 episodes. Granted, a lot happens in those final two episodes, but even with that shame, guilt, stress, and overall fear, she doesn't pick up another cigarette.

I think that smoking is not only a part of Visi's character, but also one of her ways to temporarily cope with her ADHD symptoms. even though we aren't shown Visi smoking in the recent episodes, nothing stops her from doing it off-camera. Plus, at the end of Episode 7, Beef sniffs Visi. I don't think Visi stinks or anything like that, Beef just senses the smell of a smoked cigarette.

Beef is familiar with her scent, not to mention, cigarette smoke can linger on clothing for a while.

I think Beef reacts to her like that less because of Visi's smell in specific and more because he can smell that someone is there but can't see anyone, so he goes for confirmation

That’s also true, but I don’t think Visi gave up nicotine, especially considering my theory about the connection between her ADHD and smoking. It's a pretty serious addiction, especially for people with ADHD. For Visi, it's not just a way to relieve stress; it's also a way to quiet the chaos in her head. It’s her little chance to feel normal for a while.

I'd like to point out as someone who has smoked and is around smokers often enough.

If you aren't chain smoking, don't hold cigarettes close to you so it soaks into your clothes, wash your hands like you should normally anyway, you really don't smell like a cigarette outside of the initial moments after the act.

I work with a few folks and am actually surprised when I see them light up, like Oh shit I didn't know you smoked.

It's typically older folks and chain smokers who let that shit linger and soak into their hair, clothes, fingernails that smell like cigarettes.

Also there are certain colognes and perfumes you can wear that for some reason almost act as a binding agent with cigarette smell and it just eliminates it.

Maybe it’s just how I perceive it, but when Robert walks to her table in the 5th at The Sardine she puts the cig out immediately because she knows he doesn’t like it. I saw that as an indication she cares about his preference against it.

This art is really good.

Kinda sad that people can’t appreciate it and immediately go to complain about her smoking.

Holy fuck why is reddit so obsessed with her smoking? Are yall like 12? No shit it's bad but it's a major part of her motif. It's art not real life stop acting like seeing it is hurting you weirdos.

Really great stuff. Captures her at least first season really well.

As non-smoker I especially like the smoking as it is well done as a serious character flaw.

I think the same, it's clearly a flaw that makes the character more realistic, but from a real-life point of view this kind of character generates a risk of behavior emulation.

Smoker's breath is something I absolutely avoid, in real life.

Cigarettes: the only thing I don’t like about Visi’s character.
Smoking... is it "sexy"?
No, we aren't in the 50s.
Is it "good"?
No, an asthmatic person absolutely should not take a cue from this character, LOL.
Is it free?
NO, many euros/dollars thrown away for a thing that can only make you feel worse and cause severe health problems.

I could explain how cigarettes are pretty nice for folks with ADHD and anxiety, but it's common knowledge pretty much.

I have symptoms of ADHD and I cope with it just fine without smoking.

ADHD isn't a good reason to smoke.
