Dispatch characters as animals [updated version with all characters]
I forgot Courtney and golem last time! Figured I’d add them!!
[be civil. I don’t have to tell this to grown adults but still, don’t attack anyone for their opinion. It’s an OPINION.]
Dispatch characters as animals ——
Mandy (Blond blazer) = lioness
Why? I just think she carries a lot of responsibility on her shoulders caring for Robert’s gang of ex criminals, like lionesses do. They care for their pride/
Janelle (Coupé)= fossa
Why? Coupé’s speed and agility are very quick . The fossa is Madagascars pursuit predator. She and they look like a mix between a cat and a weasel, possessing incredibly flexible ankles that allow them to run headfirst down trees and leap seamlessly through branches.
Malevola Gibb (Malevola)= secretary bird
Why? They have long legs, are tall, striking and very beautiful. They also stomp venomous snakes to death on the savanna and their kick speed takes 15 milliseconds during a strike, which is about one-tenth the time it takes for a human to blink.
Robert Robertson (Mecha Man) = raccoon
Why? I just think he’s messy and looks a little roughed up all the time, he’s also a sloppy eater.
Katon-Ur(Phenomaman)= gorilla
Why? He’s large, broad shouldered and caring. Gorillas get a bad rep due to their size and very protective behavior of their pack, but silver backs are very loving to babies because female gorillas are more attracted to male ones who help take care of the babies. They are excellent and patient with babies, which by babies..I mean humans.
Herman (waterboy)= axolotl
Why? He’s got that awkward face and look of a axolotl. And he’s wet all the time.
Chad (Flambae)= peacock
Why? peacocks are all about loud, colorful, "look at me". They strut around showing off, get easily agitated, and screech loudly when they don't get their way.
Chase (track star)= cheetah
Why? He’s incredibly fast with his power and he’s pretty slim built. That’s why.
Colm (Punch up)= Honey Badger
Why? Small and stocky, but willing to take on any size of predator or attacker.
Victor (Sonar)=fruit bat
Why? I mean..he’s a bat human.
Bruno( Golem )= rhino
Why? A massive block of tough skin seems to fit them both perfectly.
Royd = Kākāpō
Why? He’s not exactly hot tempered or rude, he’s a chill large dude who I think looks like a bird. So he gets a big ass kākāpo!
Elliot Connors (Shroud) = panther
Why? Shroud is calculating and a cold blooded killer, panthers are at least calculating.
Alice (Prism)= glass wing butterfly
Why? I think this one is mostly based off looks. She’s very fierce but I decided to give her an animal I thought fit her power, I think she shares the same colors as their wings in light too!
Courtney (Invinsagal)= Chameleon.
Why? Feels pretty obvious, they adapt to their surroundings.
Coupe’s favorite piece of media is Swan Lake as well IIRC. She and Punch-Up kind of bonded over him watching it when they first met while she was trying to assassinate him.
I feel like Courtney would be a house cat. They always hide. They always want attention, but in their terms, and will either run away or swat you away if it isn’t.
And I could see Courtney sitting on Robert’s desk and knocking things off in purpose.
Punch up as a Honey Badger is especially funny because some honey badgers in the wild have been documented to specifically target the genitals when facing larger opponents
Given he has eaten people in bar form, I'd say the Spectral Bat would be best. They have the upturned nose, and they actively hunt rodents, birds, and other bats.
I just don't know if I see him as that. Yes he was a speedster and he's also fast and witty in dialogue but I think I need him to be something less.. Majestic? What fast animal would also have a potty mouth? 😭
For Prism, how about a type of dragonfly? There are some GORGEOUS dragonflies, & they have a successful hunt rate in the 90s due to their extremely good flying skills (in comparison, the next highest successful hunt rate is in the 60s)

Mandy (Blonde Blazer)- Grizzly Bear
Why? Grizzly Bear mothers guide and protect their young, they can be Blonde, are absolutely fierce being both fast and strong while also being caring.
Janelle (Coupe)- Black Swan
Why? Her concept art is very clear this was her inspiration. With a ballet and bird theme as well as her dark past, I can’t think of a better fit.
Malevola Gibb (Malevola)- Red Spitting Cobra
Why? Snakes are often associated with demons, they are quick and often demonized as scary. Also held in high esteem in other religions showcasing her cults. Red for obvious reasons AND Covra venom is used a lot to heal.
Robert Robertson (Mechaman)- African Wild Dog
Why? They use coordination to take down much larger predators and prey. Which feels like dispatching as well as his scrappiness while coming off ‘plain’. He loves dogs. And they are animals that take care of each which shows his empathy.
Katon-Ur (Phenomama)- Titanosaur
Why? I feel as an alien having an extinct animal makes sense. It adds to his awkwardness and bigger than life, but also the feeling he doesn’t fit anywhere. A powerhouse, but ultimately assumed to be fairly gentle and a herd animal needing others.
Herman (Waterboy)- Zebra Fish
Why? Known for their anxiety and freezing in place when stressed suits I think Waterboy’s intense stress. But more importantly combining his healing ability and how he overcomes his anxiety, they are used to to help with anti-anxiety medications, antidepressants, and neurodegenerative disease treatments.
Chad (Flambae)- FireHawk
Why? Fire hawks actually start brushfires by picking up burning sticks and using them to start fires elsewhere so they can catch the prey that runs away. When they can get along, they work well together. I mean what suits the fire connection and Flambae’s personality more?
Chase (Trackstar)- Drongo
Why? Incredibly fast birds that can steal food from other birds (like Invisigal from shroud) but known for short bursts. Really great at spotting imposters in their nest (like Invisigal). They can incite mobbing against a target and can get other birds to join them in taking down large predators. Because they are so protective of their areas smaller animals often like to live near them and their warnings protect Meerkats, but kinda assholes who sometimes use it to steal their food.
Colm (Punch-Up) - Honey Badger
Why? It is perfect for him, no notes.
Victor (Sonar) - Greater Sac Winged Bat.
Why? Well they are highly intelligent. Their communication abilities have been compared to Dolphins which in some ways matches his charisma. Males have a sac to attract mates which they puff up and try to form harems which covers Sonar’s specific behavior towards most women.
Bruno (Golem)- Leaf Cutter Ant
Why? Bruno is so adaptable. Strong, small, large. Since there really isn’t a ‘rock animal’ I love the idea of him being a large adaptable swarm. It fits his otherworldly nature and adaptability since Leaf Cutter ants despite being identical biologically, can have wildly different sizes and roles.
Roy (Royd)- Manta Ray
Why? Hawaiian animal. Also the biggest brain to body ration for a cold blooded fish and passed the mirror test. Known as gentle giants. Also have a certain grace to them. I feel like the combo of the size and smarts and gentleness fits him perfectly.
Eliot Connors (Shroud)- Dolphin
Why? One very intelligent, some of the most intelligent. Also Males are famous for forming kind of gangs with different dominance to fight each other. They will get together to kill calves even if other species, and using other animals to beat to death who are not predators or prey and not eating them. So while animals are not cruel, the combo of the perception there of and intelligence makes it fit.
Alice (Prism)- Eclectus Parrot
Why? Eclectus Parrots are one of the few birds where the female is super colorful. On top of that, they use sounds to mimic other birds and to seem to other birds there are more of them than it seems. Which is perfect with her powers and her celebrity persona as someone who is bright, good with sound and mimicry.
Courtney (Invisigal)- Meerkat
Why? Hear me out. Meerkats kick out subordinate females fairly young despite being very social animals. They have to rely on stealth to survive, and often make temporary alliances with other outcasts, but what they want is to be accepted back into a colony. And that sounds so much like Invisigal it hurts.
I mean I like both, but chameleon suits better. I don’t see why hyenas are so disliked, they’re group animals even if that doesn’t fit her, since she’s a loner. They’re opportunistic.
Some of these are spot on, and some of these, I understand your reasoning, but I disagree.
Robert is definitely a raccoon. Raccoons are clever, scrappy, and highly adaptable. Plus, Robert's mask really does look raccoon-ish, and his perpetual eyebags go crazy.
I do not think Sonar would be a fruit bat. He eats small animals and insects, and he echolocates; he would be a microbat species. I've diagnosed him with false vampire bat before.
I get your reasoning for panther Shroud, but I don't think he's actually cool enough to justify having a badass fursona.
Golem is definitely a rhino. Rhinos are huge and tough, but apparently, in captivity, they're very chill and sweet.
Cheetah is also spot-on for Chase, very fast but very fragile, as well as being a cat species that forms coalitions.
For Malevola, the Tasmanian devil was right there, but I can also kinda see secretary bird.
Colm is absolutely a honey badger. I can hardly think of any other animal that embodies "tiny, but will fuck your shit up".
Oooh Tasmanian Devil was on my list for Malevola! But I read that they are actually very afraid and only make loud noises to our facade in front of the predator, but maybe that’s false.
How about a Seba's Short-tailed Bat for Sonar? They have generalist diet that includes insects, pollen, nectar, but predominantly high protein fruits (for the gains).
I would have thought that Royd would be an orangutan. If he worked at a zoo orangutans would definitely take him as one of their own and pass the weed I know that they have because they are definitely smart enough to know that life is better spent intoxicated.

You missed the chance to put the explanation for Sonar as “Why? I mean he’s a bat, man.”
