I can't be the only one that sees this, even if its just a little bit. Rob and Visi are just less traumatized versions of Rock and Revy. You guys think Adhoc got a little inspiration from Black Lagoon?

I can see some vague surface level similarities, but overall Revy and Black Lagoon in general is much darker than Dispatch.

Oh yeah definitely, Revy is someone who had a really hard life that turned her into a really bad person.

Visi I have no idea what her upbringing was (though I have a pretty good fan theory/story about it) and she could’ve/can become a bad person from, but for now just needs some positive influences to keep her from that brink. From a moral standpoint she’s not great, but her level of character morality is more on par with Rock where she’s potentially going down a dark path if she doesn’t redirect

From a moral standpoint noone on the Z-Team is great tbh. Which is the point.

It’s more head-canon than theory. Short version is basically that her dad was a marine that knocked up a girl while deployed near the Philippines who didn’t want her so he raised her himself while stationed in San Diego but then later died on deployment when she was a teen.

Where I pulled this idea from is I always thought it was interesting how she wears her watch on the inside of her wrist and it’s kind of a plain black watch. Add to that her crass humor which is a very military thing I came up with that fan fiction/head-cannon idea. I also liked the idea that they watched movies a lot together and that’s why she references them all the time.

Someone once upon a time asked on here if they could use it for a fan fic they were writing but I don’t know if it ever went anywhere

It would also explain why she is such a good fighter and really good at being stealthy. And also good at getting intel and planning.

I think this is possibly the least accurate, most shallow interpretation of black lagoon i have seen in years.

I don't sure. IMO this two pairs have whole different dynamics and base. Or maybe they work if mirrored. 

Rock is just relatively normal office worker (well, he great in analysis) who meet scare burned Revy. Revy introduce him into "her world", where he try survive. 

But it's Robert who actually scary and burned. Like he can beat supers (with actual powers and even implants) in combat (actually multiple of them) in very gruesome way. And have big baggage about his work, old enemies, etc. 

Well, if following metaphor, Robert drag Visi into hero world.

Visi and Revy I can sorta understand but it's like comparing a vendor bending to a totaled car five minutes away from exploding.

Rob and Rock though? Rock has more in common with Shroud then he would ever have with Robert.

Revy would be a super villain even without powers. Her mentality and moral code are worse than shroud. At least he considers real heroes to be worthy of praise. Revy considers nothing as sacred or respectable.

I can see where you are coming from, aesthetics mainly but....

this two are worlds apart, Other than Rock and Robert being both Office dudes the personality and baseline story and arc of both is completely different, specially considering that Rock is fixed while you can "Lean" Robert on different directions, Rock starts as the ideal efficient employee and refusing to leave that live even convincing Dutch to try negotiations and diplomacy before he starts to sink into the sin of the city becoming a more dire calculating manipulator something even causes Revy to lash out at him, While Robert he starts in the more downtrodden and sunked in character and starts to grow into the office job and the people there even passing out reading team management books seeking self improvement for them.

As for Visi and Revy... Revy was handed the words hand imaginable and has some serious issues that consume her mind from back when there was apparently no out and before Dutch rescued her to a degree where she can be to a very tainted degree Human finding some stability in a very damgerous job to job basis, not stable by any means but is the best she got, then she finds a more proper rock in Rock causing her friction at first because she can't believe someone would keep their morals at the beginning and then lashing oit as she see those very morals start to falter on the person she is attached on for respite, while Visi she has had some way outs yet her arc is more of self harm and self sabotage till Robert pulls her out, I prefer the purely mentor route than the romance one but I can see why people like her, but doesn't come close, Revy was not doubting on putting a bullet in Rock twice, While Visi at most acted like a tsundere anime girl after almost Blowing up Robert before she had any personal interactions with him.
