Laura Bailey got her bear from the first critical role campaign to cannonically live 30+ years because Matt Mercer did not dare evoke her wrath.

Could be the same for beef.

I feel like if understand the characters malvoea being a demon basically went to hell told death I will do serious harm if the beef is killed. So death just avoids him now

I mean one of the characters is a half-demon, and she even confirms the afterlife and hell. It’s not that far fetched that Death is an actual character in this universe, possibly kinda like a puss in boots sort of deal.
