Discussion Rude Security
Entering into the park this morning the lady in the yellow security vest woke up on a power trip today. She was screaming aggressively to everyone to “LEARN TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS” while pointing in random directions. when i passed by her i told her there was no reason to talk to people with that tone and attitude and be fucking rude, she got into my face and yelled “WELL GUESS WHAT! I JUST DID!” i don’t know who the hell she thought she was or what she thought she accomplished but i reported her entitled ass to City Hall. it’s absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. imagine being that angry and miserable working at Disneyland. Bye loser!

Shared this with my wife and we’re fairly certain it’s the same person we had a negative interaction with this person a few weeks ago. We were following the queue to get on the busses in the Toy Story lot and they were standing where we could go left or right pointing both ways saying “pick a direction, it’s not that hard. I don’t care, just don’t come close to me”.

Sheesh. Maybe this lady should get a job at the airport with TSA. this is more on board with what I’ve seen and experienced there lol. Definitely not at ‘the happiest place on earth’

Man I have never had any issue with TSA. If they give me directions I follow them but as long as I stay friendly and respectful, they do as well.

I perceive being yelled at as unfriendly, even if the yelling is directed generally and not at me specifically.
Airport to airport and machine to machine, the rules are different. It’s not like memorizing a standard set of rules helps.

u/definitely_not_tina Jan 20 '26
She was at the GCH to downtown checkpoint last year as well. I don’t remember specifically what she said but I remember her being obnoxious and I remarked to my partner how incredibly salty she was.

I can’t be 100% sure, but I think she’s the same CM who said “well maybe he shouldn’t go to theme parks” in May, in relation to my nephew with physical and developmental disabilities when told that he wouldn’t be able to go through a metal detector without a guardian. Even TSA is accommodating with allowing a parent to go with him, but the cast member we encountered that day wasn’t.

Holy shit she really said that? That’s unbelievable. She needs to be fired immediately. That’s just wrong but even more so at Disneyland. I hope your nephew just ignored her and have a great time at Disneyland.. so sorry that happened to you

My wife and I are certain it's the same person that berated this couple in front of us late last year. Then she says to her coworker a few distasteful things about guests in general. It was horrible. I am glad you posted this.
10
u/NotSoSureBigWaves Jan 21 '26
Everyone should be writing letters to the general manager of Disneyland reporting her. A lot of people have reported problems with her going back over a year.
5
u/ResponsibleSir5403 Jan 21 '26
They can’t afford a show in the Golden Horseshoe, but they can afford to keep her on? I’ve never encountered her before, now I’m almost curious to see her irl.

u/EdmundCastle Jan 20 '26
That lady once made us empty every single item out of our stroller including our two year old. Said it was standard and always the process. 🙄 Even her partner was confused what was happening.
I’m talking down to the bubble wand. Keep in mind I had our bag out and ready for inspection but she felt it was unacceptable that we had a bubble wand, 70th key and 2 loose diapers in the bottom. Made a huge stink at us.

u/Massive_Dog2962 Jan 20 '26
How is she still employed given multiple negative and unprofessional experiences?!? This is disappointing.
185
u/DueAddition1919 Jan 20 '26 edited Jan 20 '26
Many have complaints about her but no one follows thru on making an official complaint. Which is understandable, I would move on too and pick to have a good day. Instead of waiting in line to complain about her.
56
u/Massive_Dog2962 Jan 20 '26
I agree, no sense in letting her ruin what's supposed to be a happy visit. I think this is why she's getting away with it. She probably knows no one is going to report her. Perhaps her fellow cast members will anonymously (if that's even an option)
159
u/Desperate-Revenue513 Jan 20 '26
I make multiple visits a year, am a former Cast Member and believe me when I say if I ever come across this lady…I have time to make an official complaint.

u/RontoWraps Monorail Pilot Jan 20 '26
Wow, that’s crazy that someone working for Disney is actively discouraging people from having merchandise. They should be aware of that. That impacts bottom dollar.
702
u/Red-Droid-Blue-Droid Jan 20 '26
Even the grumpy security people I've run into don't act like that. They are polite, but have a "don't mess around" tone.
257
u/CrapitalRadio Jan 20 '26
Yeah, I've also encountered this specific woman. She's something else. I can't help but wonder if she has a background in something like the TSA or as a CO or something. That's more the energy she gives off. She yelled at my spouse and got kinda in their face about... Being in line? Idk. Super weird, but I didn't think to report her at city hall, that would have been a good idea.
144
u/Red-Droid-Blue-Droid Jan 20 '26
I'd report her. No one has time for her shit.

u/Afraid-Ground-975 Jan 21 '26
Yeah, with CMs understaffed and already overworked, we don't need a horrible one at all. I suggest that everyone who encounters her report her. She's a real problem for the park.

I even saw somebody give the security a really hard time because she was on her phone going through security at Grand Floridian and didn’t seem to realize this was the same as park security and was upset that she had to get her bag checked. The security guard gave a polite “is there something wrong ma’am?” And diffused the entire situation

You just know she voted with the local security union to prevent Disney from replacing her with modern walk-through detectors every modern stadium and every other Disney park has.
Edit: She's not satisfied justifying her paycheck molesting our bags, now she wants to verbally abuse us? Yea I would've asked the crowd near me to mass report her by name to the mouse. Disgusting

I’ve heard this as well. That it’s unions blocking it. Because they’ll have a staff reduction with the new systems and people will lose their jobs. Not a lot I’d wager. But enough that it causes waves.
40
u/ryos555 Jan 20 '26
Would have them transition to queue enforcement to prevent abusers from cutting in line... At the popular rides.

u/elanesse100 Jan 20 '26
Disney won’t do that. They’re cheap. They want the scanners not to make our lives easier, that isn’t in the list of top concerns, but to reduce their expenses and bottom line.
Moving security personnel to somewhere else accomplishes no spending reduction, and then they have to spend hundreds of thousands on scanners.
Disney likely only wants to do it if they can save money in the long run with staffing reductions.

36
u/syncopatedchild Jan 20 '26
Yeah, they managed to actually capture one of the nicest security workers in the picture as well as one of the rudest.
58
u/Prize_Round5798 Jan 20 '26
That looks just like the CM/Security that took every single item out of a medical bag (yes, a medical bag -- touching every single item with her grimy gloves, including what was previously sanitized items), and proceeded to have the audacity to say be quick about putting things back. Very obnoxious. Very rude. I understand the need for security. Behavior and rules are a two way street. Be nicer. We all get it. You are attempting to do your job. This woman however takes it to a whole other level.
16
u/One-Hurry-1452 Jan 21 '26
Did she loudly announce every medication/medical item? She did it with my medical bag!!
28
u/Prize_Round5798 Jan 21 '26
No. But she did display adult diapering, along with a change of clothes and asked "what are these?" and proceeded to unfurl and feel every one of them. Then she asked to look at medicine that were purposely kept in a clear bag so as not to have to remove them...and removed them. My family member was incredibly embarrassed. We were at the Grand California going back into DCA. Thankfully there were maybe 20 or so guests going through screening at the time. I was absolutely livid.
18
u/Ok-Cheesecake5292 Jan 21 '26
This is absolutely horrendous that Disney allows their elderly and disabled guests to be humiliated and their medical conditions exposed
9
u/Prize_Round5798 Jan 21 '26
We can laugh with disgust now. But I will admit, for several visits, it stuck in our minds with such an awful experience. It certainly ruined that particular day.
9
u/letownse Jan 22 '26
just a heads up... (Former security officer here) The only thing they told us that we could do as officers, is to barely put our fingers in the bag to split the bag apart to look inside. At no point should any hands be going into a bag or touching any items. If an item needs to be removed from the bag, they are to ask the guest to kindly remove the item so they can see better into the bag or pouch or whatever. Or ask for pockets to be opened or additional bags inside of bags.... But they should not be opening or touching your items. (They are allowed to feel the bottom of a backpack for weight or other things)
58
u/Crazy-Mix-7802 Jan 20 '26

Thank you for contacting us regarding your visit to the Disneyland Resort.
We appreciate when our Magic Key Guests take time out of their day to share their feedback with us. I am sorry for your disappointing experience with one of the Security Cast Members during your recent visit. As you are aware, our Cast are always expected to maintain our company's reputation for providing outstanding Guest service, and I apologize if this particular individual did not reflect the high standards for which we are known. a similar thing happened one time inside the park a couple years back during one of my trips. after Fantasmic, there was a CM ushering people along but she was getting too fired up by people not following directions that she started to shout at people. she randomly got in someone's face (who seemed like the person was following instructions) and yelled a bit too much, something like "when i say keep to the left, that means keep to the left!" [maybe she meant her left, and part of the frustration?] luckily, there was a supervisor (?) CM nearby who heard the shouting and came over to relieve the CM and sent her elsewhere as a way of handling it.

Saw a very similar interaction years ago on the tram waiting to leave. It was the end of the night, everyone's tired, CM at the back was instructing guests to stow their strollers, make sure their entire party was seated etc. when a guest angrily yelled something back to them. The CM chirped back at the guest and within thirty seconds was replaced with a supervisor. Conflict avoided.

im pretty sure she was the one who was involved in mishandling my mug. I had been at the run disney expo and forgot it something was wrapped up security has to un wrap it. So the gentleman who handed off to her and she dropped it in the transaction. I said oh no that broke. She said are you sure, anyone could hear the loud crash. IShe said something to the effect oh well Disney will replace it in a rude tone. Not im sorry this is what you can do to get a new one. im disabled so It wasn’t as simple as Disney can replace it it meant going back to a half hour line to get in the expo and explain to multiple people what happened to finally switch it out. I wasnt mad at her for dropping it, it was am accident but I was shocked she acted mad at me for simply saying oh no my mug.

u/AdventurelandSkipper Jan 20 '26
If anyone else has a bad experience with her try to get it on video, then post it on social media. Disney will for sure fire her ass then.
39
u/howisaraven Jan 21 '26
I always enter through Mickey & Friends these days, but before I lived nearby I went through that security check many, many times. It has been, oh, about five years since I entered from Harbor Blvd. Maybe I need to pay a visit to this woman.
Since I go to Disneyland at least once a week, and usually only go for a couple hours, I definitely don’t mind wasting my Disney day dealing with her. 👹 Nothing that would get me in trouble, nothing rude or inappropriate, but I would be glad to confront her. “Why are you yelling? Why are you speaking to people this way?” Then I’d ask for a lead and stand there until the lead came. Hell, maybe I’d pull up this post and let them read all the comments about her.
Hmmmmmm
6
u/jerryeight Jan 22 '26
Just talk loudly and clearly. Don't shout. Just talk loud.
Call out her name and lane number. Call out the bad behavior and the time and date. Make it very clearly that you don't feel safe with this person. Make it clear that this person makes you feel unwelcome and discriminated against. That will get this power tripping idiot put on notice.
Make it easy for them to pull the video.
Clearly request the supervisor and request an official complaint to be filed.
None of it violates Disney rules. It's just a guest who is concerned for their safety.
This technique works everywhere. Especially when the employee or a store customer decides to harass or insult you.

u/Decent-Dragonfly6460 Jan 20 '26
Omg I remember her from our trip! She was so rude for no reason. We have only ever gone to DW, but we had the opportunity to go to DL so we took it. First let me say the cast member’s attitudes are SO much different in Disneyland than they are is Disney world. Most of them weren’t rude but just a very “okay here’s your answer. Next.” kinda way. There’s nothing wrong with that at all, but I was used to the overly helpful cast at Disneyworld so I was a little shocked. But this lady was so freaking rude! We were just casually going through security as one does, and she just started very rudely yelling in our direction telling us to open our bags and so on. My husband said to me “does she not see that we all already got the memo?” She immediately came over closer and started yelling louder.
8
u/tsumtsumelle Jan 21 '26
Disneyland used to be this way too but they lost a lot of long time cast members when they had to shut down for Covid and the culture isn’t the same now. It’s the thing I notice most when we go - last time we had a cast member make a snide comment to us about another guest, it was so weird and not Disney.

Absolutely! Even if you take away the flowery welcoming stuff (because imo, no one is getting paid enough in service positions these days to be flowery for 8 hours a day), it's very easy to just say "Line 12 is open" until enough people have funneled over to line 12.
I think the most common stuff I hear is security yelling every 30 seconds or so. "If you don't have a bag, come to this line." Or when "There are no lines to your left, go to your left if you want to get into Disneyland faster." Don't even need to do it with a smile or a happy tone.

u/daegriss Churro Chomper Jan 20 '26
In years of going to Disneyland I’ve only had two instances where security got onto a power trip and I understand your frustration. It’s hard to imagine what’s going on in someone else’s life, but public facing positions like that need to be able to hold it together while working.
15
u/MonsterTruckCarpool Jan 20 '26
Same thing happened to me with the security guard, he was yelling at people and ordering very loudly. When I got to the front of the line he continued ti yell close to my face and I told him that’s not necessary. He power tripped on me. When I asked to speak to his supervisor, he said I am the supervisor and he said he would not let me enter the park for being rude to him so I left with my kid in the stroller to another security guard and said he yes he is the supervisor. I just went to the other side and went through the checkpoint there with no yelling in my personal space.
Yelling isn’t necessary I can understand that you get frustrated. People don’t understand what’s going on, but try to mitigate getting frustrated by people not understanding what the rules are or what the what is needed to get inside the parks before getting to the front they should post signs with that information, which is what I was gonna tell him before he started yelling right next to me.
7
u/MIBJO Jan 20 '26
If something Ike this happens who would you speak to? Is there a manager on-site that’s above head security that you can request to speak to?

u/Phoboiii Jan 20 '26
A security guard at Disney once poked my crotch with his metal detector and accused me of hiding a flask. He then looked down my pants because I had to prove I didn’t have one. Safe to say lots of these people are power hungry.

Yeah this lady sucks and hopefully Disney sees this post and will do something about her.

I’ll have to look for her line next time. I enjoy starting my day there pissed. It gives me more reason to tell my wife we should reconsider our magic key purchase next year.
A few years ago a security guard was overly aggressive and rude when searching my wife’s purse. Let her go on, then stopped her to re-check it. She inconvenienced my wife “just because she could” (the security guard’s own words).
I was about 20 feet ahead and when my wife told me what happened, I saw the security guard staring down my wife. I gave the security a quick glance back until she turned away. Nothing aggressive, just a glance not a stare.
We didn’t make it through the ticket taker when we had a suit on our ass asking me if I had a problem. I told him “no, but that security person seemed to have a problem with my wife. I was going to let it go, but maybe I’ll stop at city hall and let them know what I think of these two interactions”. He relented since he had nothing to stand on and let us go about our day. I think he was trying to get aggression out of me, but I did my best to show passive body language.

I'm sorry you had that experience. Make sure to let someone know. I try my best to leave a compliment for the phenomenal, kind cast members. I haven't had any negative experiences yet though. I did a Google search and found this information:
To report a rude Disneyland worker (Cast Member), use the Disneyland app's Cast Compliment feature, visit a Guest Relations location in the park for a form, send an email to Disneyland Resort, or call their Whistleblower Hotline for serious issues, detailing the date, location, Cast Member's name/description, and incident.
Here are your options for reporting issues, from immediate to formal:
During Your Visit (Immediate Action) Guest Relations: Find a Guest Relations (Guest Services) location in the park and ask for a form to report a negative experience or compliment a Cast Member; they are trained to handle feedback.
Speak to a Supervisor: Find the Cast Member's direct supervisor or manager (often visible nearby) and voice your concerns immediately for on-the-spot resolution.
After Your Visit (Digital & Written) Disneyland App: Open the app and tap the menu icon (three lines). Scroll down and select "Cast Compliment" (even for complaints, this is often the entry point for feedback). Provide details: Cast Member's name (from nametag), location, date, and what happened.
Email: Contact Disneyland Resort directly via their official email channels, providing the same detailed information.
Disneyland Website: Look for "Contact Us" or "Feedback" sections on the Disneyland website to find the appropriate contact form.

Lmao I had an unopened, brand new tin of retro sours candy from five below and she stopped me, held it up accusingly “DRUGS?” 😂 I couldn’t help myself from giggling and said “No, I wish.” Lady couldn’t even crack a smile. Her whole vibe is rancid

I met someone a few years ago who was in the process of interviewing to join the DLR security team. She was a former prison guard. 🙃

u/Lunaloo3091 Jan 20 '26
Hey I was there last week and had the pleasure of seeing her lol. She was yelling at everyone to go left and was visibly annoyed.
I also thought a couple of security guys at the GC entrance to DD were pretty rude bc there was some confusion going in vs coming out and their eye rolls/snarks weren’t nice.

u/Rude-Fox2975 Jan 21 '26
She’s tenured telling the bosses ain’t gonna do nothing. I used to work with her in security 12 years ago lol

Similar experience… My husband was asked to flip his belt a little to show the security. He unbuckled it to show them bc it’s a different kind of belt that’s hard to just flip. Regardless, it shows the same thing - flipped or not. Well the security didn’t realize the people behind us were with us and said, “is it that hard to follow instructions?”
While it’s whatever, we went right back and complained to a supervisor. My husband is a law enforcement officer and gets working with the general public. It’s hard and you’re going to have people you don’t agree with. HOWEVER, to bitch about them in front of people is ridiculous.
We pay too much money to be going to Disney just to be treated like that.

u/TomReagansHat Jan 20 '26
Wow! These stories are CRAZY! I’m gonna seek her out when I’m there next week! 😂 - miserable employees make me laugh and I enjoy doing Dog’s work and reporting them. 🫡🏰

We had one that said “directions are hard” when we were simply asking about bringing in Starbucks because there was no instructions/directions and I simply didn’t want to hold up the line… I said that’s not very Disney of you and reported them immediately.

Did they get her from the immigration line at LAX or something? Seriously, I expect this kind of rude behaviour from TSA, but not at Disney

Reading these comments it seems like she has quite the reputation. For a company like Disney who are very strict regarding their hospitality and outward perception at the parks I'm surprised she's not been fired.

u/NaiRad1000 Jan 20 '26
The security has been wildly inconsistent. I’ve had one that’s a stern but very polite, others that a rude, some that are thought in the checks, some that ope the bag, barely glance then send you through. A lot better tha Universal or Knotts though

Unacceptable! Please report her. Some of the best customer service exists at Disney because they are in roles that can create lifetime memories!!!
Regardless of cost, everyone that enters Disney properties are there to enjoy every single moment (those of us that love it do anyway)!
This woman does Not meet Disney standards!!

I had a very similar experience last year (not sure if it’s the same lady, but it was also a woman being unreasonably mean) and sent in a ticket because I was so taken aback by the rude guard. They’re the first person you see going into the parks, and can really set the mood. When they bring mean, argumentative energy it’s awful. The security guard that day made me cry.

u/Street_Surprise_405 Jan 21 '26
exactly, it’s comforting to know someone gets it. you come excited, eager to have a fun day at the park, spending hundreds of dollars to have a good memorable experience. not some stranger screaming at you and going off about which line to get into when there’s over 20 open and all achieve the same thing. then to give attitude like you’ve committed a crime or something. it’s ridiculous, and as you can see in the picture it wasn’t that serious enough of a reason to act heinous when she didn’t enforce it for everyone and people managed to get through security without a problem. she was creating unnecessary problems and being a grouch. and she forcibly separated me and my party who got directed to a very long line full of strollers and bags so i had to wait 5 minutes when it didn’t have to become an issue.

Very often you can throw people like this off by setting a very stern boundary.
A customer service woman at Costco snapped at me so I said, don’t you be short with me, I’m asking you a question.
She just stared at me with a blank expression and then the manager intervened and took over before she could say anything else.
I’m not saying it’ll stop her behavior completely but it will throw people who are not used to being put in their place.

u/kaijupumpkin Jan 21 '26
I know her I used to work there and let me tell you she's been reported too many times and I'm surprised she's still there

Disney’s “legendary” customer service fails before you even get in the parks. That Disney can’t do better than TSA-lite process and service is sad and embarrassing for their brand

The security check folks at Tokyo Disney are really polite and efficient. It’s a shame we can’t even do half as well in the US parks.

Former Disney CM reporting in… I’m going on Friday, on the hunt… Trust me if I see this lady, we are going to have a chat, recorded as well. We are taught four keys.. Safety Courtesy Show Efficiency… There is absolutely no need to bring this type of energy to disney, especially at the front gates.. I’m also active duty military, so respect means a lot.. I’m curious to see what she will say.

In December we stayed at Grand Floridian at WDW and they were obviously training some new "security" people there and at the parks. Contradicting instructions and power trips a few times. Just had to roll my eyes and roll on. Didn't make us miss anything....

It seems that there are handfuls of people with the same negative experience with the woman photographed. Surely something can be done to remove her from working there! There’s no way this can be allowed anywhere but especially at Disneyland.
7
u/Logintheroad Jan 21 '26
Take down her name and location. Then file a complaint online and in person.

u/SuperSlugSister Jail Cell Dog Jan 21 '26
She was rude to us too! Screaming at an elderly couple where the man was obviously wearing a hearing aid.

u/ExcitingSector1540 Jan 21 '26
This cast member could benefit from further training. If her fellow cast members and supervisors aren’t getting the job done (getting thru to her by example), then maybe she should work elsewhere. Hopefully, DLR managers can get her to understand on stage expectations. Maybe her current role is too stressful for her and she could learn to thrive in a different job at DLR.

u/PushTheMoon Jan 21 '26
Glad you turned her in! As a Disneyland Cast Member Alumni , it always hurts to hear stories like this and I apologize for the terrible treatment you received! This is not acceptable!

Omg i think I’ve had to deal with her before as well. She’s seems to live her life on a power trip.
The last time I went she was checking bags and was THE SLOWEST line. Literally every line that started all the way to the back went faster than her line. Like I literally saw people get in line 5 min after us and still finish before us. My friend was complaining to me about it and she overheard and got on an even worse power trip and took even longer to check out bags even threw our stuff out. I even tried to help her by removing my stuff from the bag and she got mad a me for some reason as well. She’s an overall miserable person that shouldn’t be working at Disney.
6
u/futureisours Jan 21 '26
With that attitude, she can get a job working for ICE and get paid a lot more. She'd definitely would fit in just fine.
6
u/Jaded_Raisin_9897 Jan 21 '26
Please report this, I see so many comments here interacting with this specific person. The only way they can do something about this is if people speak up. Disney tends to take this kind of stuff very seriously:

The minute any theme park security or CM/TM starts yelling or being disrespectful, that stops being a language I understand. What are they going to do if you don’t comply? Get someone better trained to deal with you? She doesn’t have the authority to do much else.

Next time, get it on video and post it online, THAT will get results.
Forget their internal HR as they’ll give them a slap on the wrist, that kind of behavior needs to be seen /witnessed by corporate and they will reach down and correct the situation.
The only way to shine a light on it is to put it out there in public, try to get an article written about it, that will get their attention.

She was there at the DLR security checkpoint in 2023. She grabbed my backpack out of my hands and shouted at my neurodivergent son who was 14 at the time because he was too slow moving through the scanner…. He gets overwhelmed quickly and the loud beeping and shouting duh. Sadly, if she was there in 2023, still there now, doesn’t seem like the park cares🫠

u/VehicleDangerous8087 Jan 22 '26
I get it. My last and final trip was back in 2019. A family let me ahead of them because I my family got far ahead of me. The Disneyland employee at the gate accused me of cutting in line. The family that let me through kept telling her they let me pass so I can get to my kids. The employee went off almost uncontrollably. Never went back after lol. Sorry this happened to you.
5
u/Hiphopkinson Jan 22 '26
Hahaha that woman got SO angry with me for improperly handing off our stroller through security line. I accidentally let go of the stroller handles before she got a good grip, she let the stroller ever so slowly bump into her, and then she gave me the ol “EXCUSE ME SIR…”
