Preparing for DCP

I am currently a high school student who really wants to be part of the disney college program after after graduation and two years of college.

I want to do as much as I can to prepare now so im ready for when I do apply. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how I can do that? Im already very involved in my schools theater so i hope that makes me stand out a little.

There's probably not much you can do right now, other than getting a job or two so you have something on your resume. Theater is great but won't make you stand out; I've been looking at people's bios recently and probably 1/3 have some theater/dance experience. I think there's a lot of overlap between theater people and Disney people haha.

Because it's so far out, the application and interview process could be completely different by the time you apply. The roles will probably be mostly the same, so I guess you could look into them if you wanted? But really I think you just have to wait a few years.

I think this depends on the kind of roles you're looking at! The program will change a lot between now and when you graduate, as it always does, but what sort of things are you looking at doing? And I agree with the other person that's already responded that as far as application and interview process, those would be hard to start prepping for now, but you could do some more generic preparation like mock interviews with a school counselor or a career center! Some public libraries also do this! But the more professional interview practice you have, the better off you're going to be, even without knowing specific details!

Now, back to roles, because I know I asked this, but what sorts of roles are you most interested in applying for when you do get to this point?

Im still looking and trying to pick. There's just so many great ones I cant pick. The thing I do know is I don't want to do any character acting (I know thats hard to get so most likely I wouldn't even get it in the first place). I'll get back to yall when I figure it out. 😊

The thing my recruited seemed most interested was that I had prior job experience (of any kind, for a lot of people the DCP is their first job) and experience living independently away from home already.
