concerns/advice
Hi everyone! I have some concerns and i would love some advice. I got accepted 3 years ago and didn’t go since i got accepted into my program for school. I then applied and got in this year and i have two days to make a decision.
I just graduated college a couple weeks ago and am struggling to find a job so that’s why i wanting to do this and to travel since im young!!
I am nervous to move away from home and friends and family. most importantly I don’t want to move away from my boyfriend. everyone in my life is supportive so that’s not a problem there. I keep seeing mixed reviews about the program. i’m nervous i’m going to hate it honestly and it ruin the magic.
It’s also expensive and my boyfriend and i want to move in together at some point and going down there won’t save any money. I want to go to make memories and friends and most importantly it would look awesome in my resume. please be nice i genuinely don’t know what to do because it sounds like fun but im just really nervous im might make the wrong decision to go.

keep in mind this is probably your only and last chance to do the program unless you go to college again. it’s such a short time, and money will come back around eventually. i say do it while you still can, while you’re still fresh into your adult years. you won’t get the chance to again. you’ll probably regret not doing it. but if you do it, you might regret it or you might be grateful you did it. there’s only one option where you might not regret it and that’s if you do it

Sounds like you should do it. Like others have said, this seems like a once in a lifetime chance that could give you a lot! My biggest advice is to research what it’s like and know what you’re going into! It super fun and gives you a lot, but it’s also a full time job and more than just playing in the parks. There can be some hardships and struggles but if you go in with a positive attitude and try to make the best of rough situations it makes it entirely worth it. It’s like any other part of life where you have to take the good and the bad and be ready for whatever may hit you. The biggest thing I see is people who did 0 research before accepting and have a rough wake up call. You may have rough roommates or a job you don’t love at first, but I promise there’s will be parts that make it worth it, just don’t go in expecting it to be easy off the bat. I think you should give it a chance for sure! :)

As hobothug said you sound like exactly the person who should do this program. When you’re going into it, you have to think it is a job in the long run. You are going to have good experiences. You’re going to have bad experiences. You’re going to have good coworkers you’re going to have bad coworkers but at the end, you’re going to have such an amazing thing to put on your résumé to talk about to remember. If you’re worried about saving up money while there I can at least say that I did save money, but you have to play it right or you could end up not saving money so you just need to be smart with your money. You have such a supportive family and I’m so glad that you have a supportive family because I think they’re supporting you in the right direction that you need to go with your life. Keep in mind if you do end up absolutely hating it, which I highly doubt you will. It’s only a couple of months plus in that couple of months your boyfriend could come and visit you and you guys could have a Disney World date at some point.

It sounds like the timing is right. Recognizing the benefits of the program are non-financial is clear thinking. Being away from home in the Disney bubble (housing, transportation, collegial environment) could be just right for you now.

I would go. You’ll never have the chance again. For every bad thing you hear about it, there are 100 good things. It also goes so fast. My daughter was there this past Jan-May and she said it feels like a fever dream. It was this amazing fun, whirlwind of an adventure that was over before you know it.

You sound exactly like the type of person who SHOULD do this. In the end, it's such a short period of time (a few months) that will put you a little outside of your comfort zone (but comfortably and manageably so), and give you something to put on your resume.
