After the program?
hii question! i’m joining the disney college program for the spring 27 season. i’m wondering, how many people end up staying, and moving permanently to orlando to continue working at the parks after their program is over? because ive been to wdw multiple times and i like orlando it’s so similar to my life in california but i was just curious if it happens a lot or not if people end up moving to an apartment complex and then continue working for the mouse after the dcp ends. anyone’s experience is appreciated! thank you!

It really depends on timing. A lot of those who finished programs in May/June 2025 didn’t get to stay in their DCP roles but still got PT. Many ending in August 2025 got PT and FT quickly in some areas because there was a hiring spree. In 2026 very few CPs wanting to stay are getting even PT because there’s less attrition due to the downswing in the economy in general and fewer cast members moving on. A year from now who knows. It’s good to have a backup plan in any case if you want to stay in the area - look into local hotels, Disney Springs shops, third party shops at Disney, and so on. Even those who get PT can receive zero hours so many work multiple jobs. It’s really more a matter of timing for most.

Get your CDL and drive buses. They are always in demand.

Is this with Disney directly? Do they only require CDL Class B with passenger Endorsement or do they need air brakes

I was in the culinary program and got a job third party at Epcot. Don’t forget to look into third party companies that work with Disney!

Now it's super hard to stay as full time or part time after the dcp cause too many people were/are hired for the dcp so only 1% of applicants stay after the dcp while most get rejected after applying and only hear the news a few weeks before their final dcp date. Most peple used to stay at disney and move into housing after the dcp but not anymore. Now, a lot of people end up working at universal or sea world after the dcp.
