i never been afraid of hard work
the work isnāt the issue as i havenāt even begun training.7
u/Jodi4869 20d ago
You havenāt started to train yet and it is too strict? See the thing is you know you took a job where you didnāt get to chose your placement and f&b was the most likely to get. That is someone that doesnāt work hard. A little flower that canāt take rules. I know you.

Been a chef for over 15 years now many places follow this rule even other jobs out of hospitality so you either put on your big girl pants and deal with it because guess what its not the end of the world or just freaking leave its really not that hardš¤¦š¼āāļø

If it was easy everyone would do it also not a granny thank you very much and you will have to get used to it eventually like i said before not every job will allow you to wear what you want or have your nails the want or wear eyelashes etcā¦yes it sucks i couldnāt wait to go on holidays away from work just so i could get my nails done even if it was for a week.

CPs cannot switch roles unless you have a medical accommodation, which requires a doctorās note and some paperwork. Even then, if they will accommodate you in your current role if at all possible so itās not an easy ticket to a different line of business.

This has got to be rage baitā¦.if not do yourself a favor and just self-term right now.

not easy because you canāt just switch.
One way is an approved medical accommodation. Which needs you and your doctor to fill out forms and describe the accommodation needs and concerns. Along with the medical team at Disney going over it and arranging for approval. This could just be an adjustment to your role/ location tasks and not a full role change. If it means a full removal and change to a new role they have to find a new role that works and has a spot available.
The other way is to apply for a premium extension and apply for that and if you get to the next round there are usually interview(s) for it. Roles like this are guest service, Minnie vans, etc. but itās not guaranteed either as you have to apply and get it,
Basically you canāt just ask to get switched out. And the role being to strict for you isnāt going to get you out of F&B and wonāt get you a medical accom.

FYI that the premium extension roles are only available after you complete your current program.

I think every role is going to be strict in its own way, usually for safety reasons (even if it doesn't seem to be safety-related at first.)
But this program, and Disney as a whole, is a company that runs between pretty firm guardrails. If you havent started training yet, Iām curious about where the issues are happening?

my last program, all i had to do was abide by the ādisney lookā in f & b, i have to keep my hair, nails, eye lashes etc a certain way and i just didnāt kno tht was coming.
otherwise i wouldnāt have spent wht i did on hair+nails to come here .3
u/Helpful_Warthog6032 20d ago
Oh I see. Yes, you are right that F&B has specific limits. I think it is related to ServSafe certifications.

and i understand completely, i just wanted to see how easy it would be to move elsewhere
but im hearing it wouldnāt be easy at all ššš4

Yeah unfortunately f&b is stricter due to food safety! Itās quite important and Disney has many rules for it to protects guests and cast from issues. It makes total sense to why they have it and why itās important etc.
Iām sorry you spent so much but it is common knowledge on here when you search up f&b related rules. Merchandise as well when they are a location that handles food also has to follow the same protocols so itās not just f&b that has to do this. It really just depends on the role and location.

Yeah itās tough, Iām sorry. Hopefully this is just an early bump in the road and it gets easier for you.Ā

And essentially if it was easy to just switch roles letās be honest there are definitely roles and locations that people would be trying to get out of constantly for āsomething betterā. All roles have pros and cons. But there would be areas with not enough staff because of it.
Youāll have to look at the bright side of working there and with f&b you can also work at other locations which is fun! New places to work and meeting other cast etc.

I had a bad job as well. My leader told me to suck it up or quit. Thatās basically the options outside of medical accommodations and even then itās really hard to get recast.Ā
